This is starting to lean off topic. We're discussing the characters in .hack//ZERO, and how some of the original chars from //SIGN show up in it. Although to be noted, some things were changed in the American release of the .hack games from the Japanese games, whereas you couldn't use the //SIGN chars in your party, but they'd just show up for incite. Or something.

That's not really them. Apparently, they're AI's enabled by Helba, according to her e-mail.
Which makes me wonder what's the point of getting them as bonus characters at all. It's the "Hey look, we're making a SIGN reference!" but they don't want to actually commit.
It's kinda irritating how so many things promised to tell us what happened to the characters of SIGN, but then mostly backed out.
Intermezzo was a flashback. GIFT is a parody, so doesn't affect canon, and the characters in the epilogue of Quarantine/Absolute Encirclement aren't really them.
It seems even in ZERO, they avoid having any personal interaction between Tsukasa and other SIGN members by having Tsukasa IRL move away to boarding school.
Which makes NO sense at all. Rhyste is apparently ticked off at me for even suggesting Tsukasa might feel attached to Bear, Subaru and Mimiru, but c'mon! Everything suggests that they all live in the Tokyo area. Tsukasa considers them precious to her. And she suddenly decides to go to a boarding school far away? When, according to Bear, she could choose practically any college? IE one close to Tokyo?
No. I just don't see it.
Bahh...I smell a snow job like the ending of Digimon Adventure, and I LIKE .hack, so that ticks me off.

I agree with that. They're kind of annoying - all they do is spout lines from the TV series out of context, which only make sense half the time. --;That's not really them. Apparently, they're AI's enabled by Helba, according to her e-mail.

Well, it's somewhere around the Kanto area. Not that that narrows it down much. ^^;We don't even know where the boarding school is ^^;; it may be located in tokyo, right?
(Then again, I might be misunderstanding what she said. She said 関東近郊 specifically. I'm not sure exactly where that refers to, so if anyone who's better at Japanese than I am knows... ^^; )

Yes, I'd very much appreciate it if you guys read the announcements >_>;
As off topic as it is, I will address the subject of the end of .hack volume 4.
The AI versions of Sora, Tsukasa, and Subaru are just that. AI. This isn't to say that they are the most INTELLEGENT AI, but as they are a compilation of their experiences in .hack//SIGN, it's rather obvious as to why they wouldn't do anything but spout some 'character' lines as they did in the series. That's all they really have to go on, for their own personalities.
As for other novels aside from //AI Buster, there is //Another Birth, which debuted in The World 2, supposedly a re-telling of the .hack games from Black Rose's perspective. That, and .hack//ZERO.

So that japanese site said that Tsukasa stayed with Bear huh?
Hm...I see nothing wrong with that,I mean, his real dad was a total jerk through out Tsukasa's child hood, and nearly tried to kill her when she was under the life support system.I definately would not want to live with some lunatic who pulled that stunt on me :/
Just curious..how reliable is this site? Not that I am judging or anything,I would just like to know how reliable it is.

Well... They have some information on the site that I've never seen in any of the official books and such that I have, but then again, I don't have the first .hack//The World magazine or a lot of other things. The reason I say that they're pretty reliable is that so far, everything on there that I have or later found an official source for has turned out to be correct.YashaOokami wrote:Just curious..how reliable is this site? So, basically, I haven't yet seen anything that proves any of their info wrong, but since it is just a fansite, anything from it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Likewise to be taken with a grain of salt is the continuity between mediums. Let's be frank, there's gaping holes that trucks can go through between the games, series, and Udeden, both manga and anime (which tell two different stories with the same characters.)
Just like Rhyste has her (I think Rhyste's a her) theory about Tsukasa and characterization, and won't let a fansite change it....
I also am inclined not to take too seriously some chapter in the book that tries to tell us Tsukasa heads off alone within a few months of finally gaining everything she hasn't had in life. Way, waaaay OOC. Rewatch the last two episodes again.
My personal theory.....(and this is just my feelings) Bandai or whoevers mainly in charge of .hack felt Bee Train made Tsukasa and Subaru "a little too gay" and gave themselves an out.
Am I saying they're gay? No. Just that an overcompensation to avoid the appearance occured. (Like the end of Digimon Adventure) Just saying that if Tsukasa had her choice of colleges, I don't see her picking one where she couldn't visit Bear, Subaru and Mimiru's players on weekends or holidays. Japanese worship of education or no.

Hmm... Keep in mind, the novel was written by someone who wrote (or at least co-wrote, I don't quite remember) a number of the SIGN scripts. ^^;I also am inclined not to take too seriously some chapter in the book that tries to tell us Tsukasa heads off alone within a few months of finally gaining everything she hasn't had in life. That could be, but I really don't think so. If that were the case, then the Phantom Pain chapter wouldn't have Mariko/Subaru thinking back to their second "date/tryst" (and yes, that's the word usedMy personal theory.....(and this is just my feelings) Bandai or whoevers mainly in charge of .hack felt Bee Train made Tsukasa and Subaru "a little too gay" and gave themselves an out.

Likewise, I've heard that in the new encyclopedia book's chart of offline relationships between the .hack characters, it says that theirs is a romantic one. ^^
