Well i like all of the dubs except for Krim and Kite.
Krim sounds like a monotonous robot talking and Kite sounds like a scared girl, instead of a scared preteen boy (no offense to anybody). Why can't guys act out boy's voices? First it was Bart and now it's Kite! Man that sux! (though Bart's VA is really good, but you get the point )

I like the Japanese voices because THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL! I watched my .hack//sign dvd on japanese with subtitles and I like Mimiru's voice the best... I was expecting Tsukasa being played by a girl. ^-^
Well i joined this forum just to get in to the action so hi everyone ,now to buisness honestly i would say that there both good each one has there own good qualities one the american mimiru isnt that great but shes is good at emotions as u all say that america lacks wich is very true ,but the eng tsukasa is much better for the reason that he sounds more of a boy than the jpn one and he does put alot of emotion to his charecter.
to be honest is that i perfer jpn anime better than eng animes for example yugiio jpn than american one ,but like cowboyt bebop i perfer the eng one cause they sound almost the same as the jpn one and there in eng
so as i said both have good qualities but the majority is that more jpn anime is perferd than eng ones like 10 to 3 or 10 to 2 .
oh p.s. i think that America should stick to cartoons like those funny cartoons wich i personally think thats all there good at while jpn is good at action by far !!
There are no words to describe how awful the English .hack dubs are. Granted, the ones in .hack//SIGN are much better than those in the game, but they're still awful. Well, except for Sora. Apparently, his VA had the whole sly, suspiscious thing down. It almost sounded like the Japanese VA speaking in English to me. Well, except for the fact that if it were, he'd probably have a horrible accent, but you know what I mean!
The dubs weren't totally awful. Compared to some that I've heard, at least. I gotta say the only two problems I had w/ the english VA are Tsukasa (Briane Siddall) and Subaru (Kim Mai Guest). Everyone else sounded fine. Sora's VA (Dave Wittenberg) got the character down perfectly.
So, in the end, I don't like it, but I don't hate it. I'm willing to watch it, but I watch the sub with the seiyuu if I can.

I prefer the Japanese to the dub, but that doesn't mean I hate the dub. ^^ I've only seen episode 1 - 5 dubbed, but I don't have many complaints. Mimiru's dub is the only voice I hate. ^^;
Well, I'v finally gotten the chance to watch it Japanese and overall I liked the English cast better. Tsukasa's original voice sounded horrible. It bothered me so much. And when ever Sora whispers he sounds really creepy. I think the only 2 that I didnt mind in Japanese were Silver Knight, Bear, and BT. Crim's was funny at times, but still sounded weird.
I dont understand why most people think Crim's voice is dubbed in English. I thought Lex Lang did a good job I like his deep voice ^_^
Heh, we all have our preferences. I know people who usually prefer the dub.

The dubs weren't terrible, but just like every other anime out there, the original Japanese voices are easily above and beyond the English dub. I always watch my DVDs subtitled with Japanese voices. The same applies to the video games.

I couldn't stand Mistral's dub voice. UGH. (I really hate Sanjuro's... Definitely Rachel's... Why oh why couldn't they have gotten a VA who could sound as cute as Aya Hisakawa?!)
On the flip side, I ADORE HELBA'S DUB VOICE. It's, like, so, Helba-ish.
For .hack//SIGN, I used to hate all of the voices at first, but now I can stand some of them. I've gotten used to Tsukasa, Bear, and BT. I'm VERY iffy on Crim and Subaru. (I think Subaru sounds way too old.) I couldn't care less on Ginkan or A-20. I still despise Mimiru's voice. I'm still a little iffy on Sora. At some parts Dave Wittenberg pulls him off magnificently, and at other times I can't stand him.
Anyways, I prefer subs over dubs UNLESS I have a rather fond attachment to the dub. (::CoughSailorMoonCough::)
what are you talking about? He sound so ominous, like one of his lines has been stuck with me since i saw it in //mutation, "Your member address, please." Just the way he said it was so...evil in a good way. The only voice over i dislike is Krim because it dosen't seem to fit his character. It's like how Subaru couldn't have Mimiru's voice, cuz that's just wrong.
