The only Kurosawa movie I've seen is The Seven Samurai, and there was nothing like Sanjuro's armor in that. But maybe I should go rent Yojimbo? :?

Just so we're clear, the japanese word "yojimbo" translates into english as "bodyguard".

You're right about that, but there's really no connection to the movie or to Sanjuro. It's a fairly common word in japanese stories.

ok i dont think he eddited his character. he has never once made coment about hacking in any way. and it doesnt seem to fit in to his personality. he is an active character in Dusk, when they are deleting hacked characters left and right and and none of the new knights grabed him for hacking his sprite. and he was out in the open.

Well, if you recall from the emails, Sanjuro is a huge samurai movie buff, so that definitely explains the character appearance. He really should've done something about the hair, though... -_-

Well, besides the deal with the hair, I think Sanjuro's one of the coolest characters. But, seriously, he looks like a mushroom or something...

Acctually I know what it is, they are sheets of metal strung together to form a type a scale mail (D&D players should know what that is). they were mostly used by the best japanese worriors to protect there main arm from damage because the were capable of protecting the rest of there body with a katana of other weapon. seeing as how he is tring to play the roll of a japanese worrior it is not surprising that he has one

Thats right...in fact there are several Samuri PCs throughout the games. I believe that its just an option that is allowed when a player first creates his avatar for the world. And no, Sanjuro's character isn't illegally edited.

I thought of scale mail, too, when I first saw it, since I recognized it from D&D. I never heard of samurai using it, though. Where did you find that out from? Unless it's in the Oriental Adventures handbook, which I don't have.

... Sanjuro is just a *little* tad over-obsessed with Ninja's and Samurai's because of their l337ness as I am with Balmung. ;D
and god said unto cain, "wow you're pretty stupid."
