Thank ye for enlightening me. Perhaps I am too paranoid. I'm glad, though, that my paranoia has brought the bit of information about "date/tryst" out.
Hmm...okay, then. I'll just have to attest to it to the same temporary insanity that occured in Sailor Moon Stars (5th season) where Mamoru (aka "Darien) leaves to study in the U.S.
Say what? Look, anyone who sees the series can tell you that Tuxedo Kamen is useless, but the series would never, ever admit that. He's essentially abandoning his duty (given by destiny!) and the other senshi for college.
Likewise Tenchi in Tenchi in Tokyo, doing the exact same thing. Well, going to Tokyo instead of America, but still....what ever happened to "I'd never leave one of them behind!" like Tenchi shouted at Kagato?
Granted, Tsukasa's more mundane, but still.
I suppose you could compare it to the end of CCS, where Syaoran and Sakura only communicate via phone and letters for 5 years, then get back together......but that always bugged me. Now there's a version of a couple I like doing this. I'm conflicted.
Maybe I'm just a gaijin, eh? Different values and all that.

Maybe .hack is more trying to be more realistic than Sailor Moon?
Andy stop getting yourself owned.
Anyway. Have nothing better to do:
Clearly, Bear, while he wants to adopt Tsukasa, knows it's ultimately her choice if she will stay with him or go off on her on. And furthermore, as we know now, Tsukasa goes to a boarding school. While I'm not in the mood to explain big psychological details, I'd like to say that Tsukasa will always remember her "belonging" to her friends, regardless of whether she keeps in contact with them always or not. I think she would choose to get some kind of financial aid from him or from wherever and go to school to try and "get on with life." But let him adopt her? Eh... I don't think so. =O Until someone from Bandai SAYS so.

lol, maybe, dare I say the 'p' word, "POKEMON!" No really that show was crap! My 'friends' would all be like, "I'M THE BIGGEST ANIME FAN IN EXISTANCE BECAUSE SAY I LOOOOOVE ALL ANIME BUT ALL I WATCH IS POKEMON!!!!!!!" Ugh. That should not be even considered an anime.
You're only young once, but you're NEVER too old to be immature.
Don't be _too_ gleeful over me being "owned," Rhyste.
This was based on a misunderstanding of what Jejune said. I thought it was implied that An/Tsukasa "left everyone behind" to go to college.
You jumped in to argue that that wouldn't be OOC at all, that there was something wrong with me for even thinking that. While my Dickenson boarding school analogy was overboard, you somewhat made similar assumptions.
Then Jejune said that the college may not have been _that_ far away, and that An and Mariko planned their get-togethers intimately.
Which doesn't take away the possibility that An spends time with Bear's and Mimiru's players during these vacations as well.

You forget something important related to this: I'm the .hack Psychology whore. Psychology has to do with analysis. Fansites don't change self-righteous analysis. The only reason I "preach" it or WTF ever is because it does make sense in a way. Go sing another tune if you don't agree with me, but I'll always have my side of the arguement.You jumped in to argue that that wouldn't be OOC at all, that there was something wrong with me for even thinking that. And Andy, FFS: Grow up. You got owned, and you admitted to be being owned, now you're being a whiny Shinji Ikari poster boy about it. Did I even POST anything in between your post above and my last post about you being owned?
and god said unto cain, "wow you're pretty stupid."
Let's see, Jejune said:Andy00 wrote:Yeah, I figured. Drives you nuts that you were wrong too. Self-proclaimed psychology expert or not.
I said:Hmm... going back to the question of whether or not Bear took in An/Tsukasa, although I still don't have any proof either way from any official resources, a generally reliable Japanese fansite I looked at does insist that he did. ^^;
What Jejune said came from: A fansite.Clearly, Bear, while he wants to adopt Tsukasa, knows it's ultimately her choice if she will stay with him or go off on her on. What I said came from: Analysis.
Now, what I'm not seeing is: Where the hell did you say I didn't like being wrong, and when, or even if, did I deny Tsuaksa would go to live with Bear? If you count
as, "no," then you're retarded.But let him adopt her? Eh... I don't think so. =O Until someone from Bandai SAYS so.
So again Andy: Grow up.

This may not make any difference to the debate, but I thought I should say this...
I'm not too familiar with how this sort of thing works in Japan, but I'm pretty sure that what Bear was offering to do was a bit different from actual adoption. The word used in the show (and on the fansite) refers, as far as I know, to a legal guardian rather than an adoptive parent.
At any rate, here's hoping that either the encyclopedia book or the next novel will settle the question... ^^;

Well, not really. Unless you wanted to know that Ginkan's working at a bar.Andy00 wrote:Anyhoo, back on .track. (hee) Jejune? Got any other details?
