Episode 18 - Declaration
In which Subaru weighs which is more important to her. The Crimson Knights? Or Tsukasa nookie? (Oh yeah, Silverknight is a tool.)
Episode starts out with Subaru, Silverknight, Mimiru and Bear all together. Subaru apologizes to Bear and Mimiru, but asks them to leave, as there are Crimson Knight matters.
Those matters being, Subaru is mildly ticked off at Silver Knight for not telling her that Bear and Mimiru had tried contacting her.
SilverKnight is overt with his displeasure with "Lady" Subaru's association with them. That she's changed, not interested in Justice! like she used to be. (Was she ever? She's been giving Silverknight the same dang lecture throughout the series. He doesn't seem to notice.)
In fact, Silverknight hints, there's dissention and mutiny among the Crimson Knights over this.
Subaru just isn't interested.
Meanwhile, in the Secret Place, Macha is playfully looking under the bed of the Sleeping Girl. No one there. The Voice notes Tsukasa hasn't visited in a while, and that while hope is the perfect spice for a dish prepared to destroy someone, perhaps Tsukasa's dish has gotten too spicy. (:ominous chord!:)
Tsukasa and Mimiru are talking, Mimiru is ecstatic that Subaru now knows about SilverKnights blocking their messages, and that Subaru will be more easily accesable.
Tsukasa has some Subaru flashbacks, and talks to Mimiru about her talking about meeting in the real world. He still doesn't remember that world, but what path would he desire there? Mimiru doesn't fully understand him, but tries. She tells him they'd have to find out, but right now they could try the path in that dungeon over there.
Subaru and Krim. Krim tries to assure Subaru that SilverKnight is just following his whacked sense of "loyalty." He reminds her that she should remember this is just a game. Do what she wants, and if she enjoys being with Tsukasa, she should be with him.
Anyhoo, they need to find out more information. (Like always.) And he'll help. Right after he gets done with a business trip. Ciao! He leaves. Out of the room, Krim notes that Silverknight is whacked.
Sora and BT are talking, probably just to get paid for showing up this ep, as they don't really _do_ anything or talk about anything new. BT grumbles about Sora, and Sora teases her about Krim.
Meanwhile, Subaru and SilverKnight are having their usual differences in strategy. There's a PKer out there. Ginken wants to capture him, bind him, lock him up, etc. Subaru wants to send him a e-mail asking him not to be disruptive, and to warn that if it continues, they may have to contact CyberConnect System Administration. It's not up to them, they aren't mods. This is the SAME THING she's been telling him throughout the series, but it's just not getting through. He gets incensed, saying they have a responsiblilty to players and the World to see things go smoothly. They're helpless against PK'ers.
(P.S. Whatever happened to a posse of Players getting together, and jumping whatever PK'er? Not the Knights, even. That's what always happened to _me_ when I PK'ed in MMORPGs. Geez, The World players are wusses.)
Subaru leaves after SilverKnight moves his rants about Tsukasa. She's got...er...things to do.
When she's gone, SilverKnight orders the Crimson Knights to ignore Subaru's commands, and "bind" the PKer. Krim's hiding on the bridge above, and notes this bit of treason.
Subaru, meanwhile, is expressing some of her troubles to Bear and Mimiru. Both of whom note that she's got a lot of pressure, and that neither of them would be able to handle it all.
Two random guys come up and recognize Lady Subaru. There's this PKer, see, and he's so strong he has to be using hacked equipment, so can the Crimson Knights do something about him? (Level up and take him on, you WUSSES!) Subaru tells them to formerly lodge a complaint to the Crimson Knights via standard channels. They thank her and leave. Bear and Mimiru start to talk about Tsukasa, a subject Subaru is very interested in.
:commercial break:
Subaru now knows that Tsukasa has forgotten all about knowing what the Broken Man was talking about. Bear notes that whether Tsukasa has forgotten or not, that he knew at one time what the Broken Man was talking about confirms his connection to the Key of the Twilight. In fact, it was almost as if it was a personal message for Tsukasa himself.
They need help finding out more about the Broken Man, and list the information seekers available. There's Crim. Balmung and Orca (...not that they've _done_ anything up to this point) Helba, Sora and B.T.
Subaru comments on Tsukasa bit, and then apologizes because she must leave for another engagement. As she leaves, Bear comments to Mimiru that they don't want to be too much of a burden.
We see Tsukasa sitting off by himself. Turns out, he's waiting for Subaru, and whacha know, Subaru arrives, happy to see him there. They sit together and watch the grass, the sky, etc. Tsukasa confirms that Subaru told him that she'd wait for him, in the real world. Tsukasa feels the same. He wants to meet her too, in a place different from this. She reaches out and holds his hand, and rests her head on his shoulder.
Later, things are not so peaceful. Two of the Crimson Knights are fighting, over the discovery that Silver Knight went against Subaru's orders. Subaru gets an e-mail from CyberConnect labeled urgent. Okay. Subaru wants to see Silver Knight. NOW.
The knights and Subaru are waiting indoors in a basement of a house as SilverKnight comes in. He's confrontational, wondering what is so important to interupt his patrolling. He and Subaru debate "Justice" and their responsibility to The World. SilverKnights gets more and more lost into his role, arguing that the World needs order, and justice, and so on. Subaru keeps trying to remind him that they are a negotiational organization only.
She then brings up an interesting letter she's gotten. About SilverKnight's request to CyberConnect, in the Crimson Knights name, to have access to all personal information and log records of players. This is absolutely ridiculous, and CC Corporation agreed, and denied the request. SilverKnight ignores CC's edict, and goes on about needing that information to maintain control and order.
Despite Subaru's protests, he begins attacking her, her association with Tsukasa. SilverKnight climbs the stairs to be ominously backlit by the setting sun, so his shadow covers them all. He turns on the Scary Lights in his eyes. He ridicules her claims that Tsukasa is a victim, and that even to make that claim, she's assuming to be a god.
Well...Subaru now understands the issue. Overjoyed, Silverknight is convinced she'll be with him in his need to control the players in The World. Well...not exactly.
She sends a Flash Mail message to EVERYONE in the World. The Crimson Knights are now _disbanded._ (You suck, SilverKnight.)
Tsukasa, btw, is waiting in the grass again. He sees a bug (the same type he crushed in the first episode) He moves to do so again with his staff...then chooses not to, and lets it climb on said staff. (IE, this represents opening up to others) He notes that Subaru isn't coming to see him that day. (It should be noted, this is NOT said with a feeling of betrayal. It's a step up, he's able to trust someone else in that they've just got other things to handle.)

If someone talked down too me like that I would have smacked him around, and then grab him up by his horns, and then drag his butt on to the bridge and then I would have thrown him off in to the river, for being the jerk that he is.
I like the part when Tsukasa and Subaru, were sitting together under the grtree. That was so sweet when she reaches out and holds his hand, and rests her head on his shoulder.

"That misty night, that dismal moon. The dead search for their kin.
While angels sing, in endless dark. The dead seek out sin."
"The fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh"

So I guess this really proves that Subaru is insanely patient.
Not that I didn't know that fact.
She strucks me in that episode as the "don't get angry, get even" type.
Instead of smacking SilverKnight dead, she hurt him where it counted...
... I make Subaru sound like she's a sadist rather than someone whose simply observant...
