The Final Fantasy games are not all a like except for the first ones...like 1,2,3,4,5,and 6.Nine had a medieval setting too. While 7,8 and 10,have had a modern setting to it :/ 11 looks like its going back to medieval once again, which I have no probelm with it.
And sorry for going off topic,I just wanted to state an opinion about the FF games.
classes they should have but don't

http://members.aol.com/dargolyt/TheForge/mornstar.htmAlso called a morgenstern (German for morning star) and a ball and chain mace. The morningstar was virtually identical to the ball and chain mace, the only difference being that a morningstar always had a spiked ball for striking. Like the ball and chain, the morningstar consisted of a metal ball attached by a chain to a wood or metal handle. By extending the weapon’s center of gravity far from the hand, the wielder created a great deal of momentum in a swing. The increased force of impact upon the target was devastatingly effective against armored and unarmored opponents alike.

For some strange reason when you guys talk about maces and such... I think back to D&D and wonder why there are no priest classes in .hack//sign.
It's probably because the WaveMaster can use healing magic as well, so adding a priest class would be redundant.
A magic user in heavy armor and weilding a nasty weapon... It would be unbalanced I suppose.
