Episode 20 - Tempest recap

Post by Andy00 »

In which we realize that everything that happened to Rei, Shinji and Asuka combined in Evangelion is happening to Tsukasa. Geeez....

Episode 20 - Tempest.

Tsukasa and Subaru are sitting together, contently holding hands while in a sunny field. We hear the song "Open Your Heart" playing during this. Tsukasa asks if she's okay now, and Subaru replies in the affirmative.

In a less peaceful climate, Mimiru is fighting a monster, she wins, and Bear warps in for a chat. Seems a lot is on his mind, such as Tsukasa and BT. Mimiru fumes about BT, while Bear amusedly tells her he also thinks about Subaru, Sora, the Crimson Knights, etc.

The dicsaussion shifts to Tsukasa. Mimiru starts to ask about what Tsukasa is like in real life, as Bear has apparently seen him in the hospital, in the coma. He asks her if she _really_ wants to know, and she backpeddles, saying it would be cheating, as she promised to take Tsukasa shopping in real life. (Now what detail about Tsukasa could be significant that it would be discerned from T's body in a coma?)

Mimiru also worries that Bear might be spending too much time just giving her company, as he probably has work and such. He says it's no big deal.

Meanwhile, Sora is meeting with SilverKnight, who hasn't given up his "Crimson Knight" avatar. According to him, it's a matter of honor. The meeting doesn't go so well, as Sora's playful insults and SilverKnight's obstinate temper cause a volatile reaction. He leaves insulted.

Sora has another meeting, this time with BT. He's got a proposition for her, "leash" SilverKnight. She knows enough diplomacy to get it done. His reasons are simple, with SilverKnight as their pawn, his entire organization of rogue Crimson Knights will be a useful resource. BT warns Sora that this might cause problems later, but goes along with it.

We see SilverKnight as BT approaches him in the fog. She's got her staff in a symbolic peace position, which appeals to him greatly. She offers him none other than the Key of the Twilight. Er..okay, SillverKnight figures there's not much to lose, but what does it do? Raise stats or act like a weapon? (elsewhere, the player who becomes Kite sneezes)

Who knows? BT muses maybe it's like a contract with an evil spirit for power (elsewhere, Tsukasa sneezes) or an event that changes everything in The World.

In that case, SilverKnight will use it to rebuild the Crimson Knights! He and his "loyal forces" will contact BT soon.

Bear and Suburu, meanwhile, are discussing Tsukasa. He's "calm on the surface" but troubled within. Otherwise, she and Tsukasa greatly enjoy being with each other. They don't really talk much. Bear notes that words only go so far, and he hopes the two of them can heal each other. Whatever it is they have, it's a good thing.

In The Throne Room, BT is quietly standing by Mimiru, who suddenly jumps in surprise. Seems she was away from the console for a second, and when she came back, there BT was. They bicker for a bit, about who's a child and who isn't, until interupted by Krim. He's not the one who summoned them there, though. Nor was Subaru. It was Bear. (Sora hasn't been included) The time has come to finish the search for the Key of the Twilight.

Starry Sky. Tsukasa and Subaru are watching it in a state of bliss. Tsukasa likes watching the stars with Subaru, because they're watching the same ones. He notes that the two of them are kinda alike.

In fact....there's a secret place he used to go to all the time. He wants to show Subaru it. A place only he can go too. Subaru hesitates. She's flashing back to Bear and Mimiru discussing how Tsukasa knew what the Broken Man was talking about. She doesn't want to use Tsukasa, or betray his trust. He manages to coax her into coming, though, and they warp into the Secret Place. The bed, however, is empty, and there is dead quiet. Suddenly, the wind begins to pick up, pushing them both back.

BT is having her leave of Bear's group, and they discuss their own motivations and Tsukasa. Most of them were just playing The World as an escape. For fun. It's more serious with Tsukasa in the picture. This is not an adult matter. Krim scoffs at this, and notes that having fun and being an adult aren't opposites. All great people still have a child in them, and he'll help them out in that spirit. However different his motives, though, he'll gladly help out. Bear thanks him. Krim leaves.

Mimiru asks the all-knowing Bear what now? Bear has no idea. (If this series had face-faults, Mimiru would do so now.) They have to find more information.

In another meeting, BT, Sora and SilverKnight are talking. BT feeds SilverKnight's sense of paranoia by casually commenting how Bears group now includes Krim _and_ Subaru. After more verbal wrangling and manipulation, essentially the deal is to have Bear's group find the information, and then they'll move in and do leg-work and get a headstart on getting the Key. (IE The oldest "villain" plan in the book. Heck, there are cave drawings with this plot.)

Subaru's alone, back at the hill where she was counting stars with Tsukasa. She looks worried. They were unable to contact each other. Subaru explains that Tsukasa took her to the Secret Place, but now she's worried. Something's wrong. Mimiru asks for more details, and Subaru said there wasn't much there. But that there was supposed to be a girl, but she wasn't there. Tsukasa said that "she took her away." Mimiru wonders if this means the Cat Player, but Subaru doesn't know. She worries that she shouldn't of left Tsukasa. Despite Mimiru's urgings, there's no way for either of them to get to the Secret Place without Tsukasa.

....and in the depths of hell Tsukasa is indeed. The Voice is angry, very angry. An invisible force grabs Tsukasa, and jerks him into the air, and spread eagled onto the bed. _Into_ the bed, the force is so strong. The Voice repeats her mantra, about them walking together, and being happy. Tsukasa asks if it's about Subaru, and shouts that he's sorry. "It's too late. I don't need you anymore." He begins to shake and scream. And then he's lifted into the air...and slowly, slowly his clothes, his body and his mind are shredded by the calm wrath of the digital goddess.

All the while he's screaming.

But his pleas have no effect, and it continues. Eventually, his broken body is put back onto the ground. Obliviated, his eyes unseeing, Tsukasa's last words are "I'm not me."

There are two things I noticed that were sorta different from the sub.
This one is just a minor thing,but since with fan subs its kinda hard to tell sometimes when they he or she [seein as how they kept referring to Helba as a he in the subs].When Subaru refers to the girl that Tsukasa wanted to show her,she tells Mimiru,that Tsukasa said "she" took her away.Then Mimiru says,the cat player? In the subs,it was "he" took her away.Seems like they called Maha a she,then again,Tsukasa could have meant Morgana instead :/

When Morgana says "...I dont need you anymore",in the dubs,they took off the demonic voice that was in the subs,which pretty much was my favorite part,and now they killed it in the dub without having it >>;

I kinda liked the "pleasant" voice in the dub. Makes it all the more soulless. "I'm going to shred your soul. Have a nice day."

I prefer the Japanese Voice for Morganna too. I can't even -understand- what English-Morganna says XD; All that echoing and spiffy effects for her voice confuse me x_x;

And then my sister was trying to make me laugh during the whole "AAH NOO NOT MY CLOTHES!" scene o_<;

Two weeks and four days of work to Balmung's Appearance. T_T

Tsukasa more than likely was referring to Morgana taking Aura away.
and god said unto cain, "wow you're pretty stupid."
