it'll be more clear when Vol.3 comes out which is almost. You'll see Harold talking about Goddess gives life to another goddess then the later goddess gives life to another goddess. So it is like Morganna give birth to Aura and Aura give birth to Zephy. So the dominant AI switch. The dominat AI well create another AI to succeed itself.

So when Moganna, Aura well be the one in charge then by the time Aura is fisnihed with ehr job, Zyphy well be in charge. This cycle continues to have AIs evolve.

THe AI's evolving thing, is this Harold's way of forcing the Net to evolve? Isn't that his main goal in all this. To force the evolution of Mankind and Cyber space?

Harold wnats evolution, that is his main goal. Causing problems on the net through Waves is one of his ways to achieve it.

together Morganna is the * phases they are her avatars but they are also part of her so if you kill a phase morganna is hurt

well ok, i decided to come back to these boards after replaying infection...hmm...well...my brain is completely fried...

Ok, lemme get an ousider point of view...

Why evolve the net, its pretty fine the way it is. One single AI is good, unless harold wanted it to change since an AI existing for a long time might lead to corruption. The other things, what if Morganna decided to avoid this entire mess by locking the world, i mean, making sure almost all of it wasnt accesable (with the exception for a gate hacker) and then get a ton of huge baddies to block the way into vital parts (after skeith data drains aura, just make sure you send big baddies to each area). Or possibly, try and make a simple line of code:

if HP<9998

then hp=99999

problem solved

Because Morganna isn't all-powerful. In .hack//SIGN, the only influence she had outside of her own areas were the Guardians and Maha. In Infection and Mutation, these change to the Phases, but again, she isn't all powerful. The Admin's are the ones who really control The World, but they can't control her. Or effect the Bracelet.
