Fly Balmung, FLY!

Isn't there a record of what exactly happened during the One Sin Event in //AI BUSTER? Cause from what I gather it wasn't just the monster, it was also some kind of really tough dungeon filled with puzzles and stuff that they had to clear too.

There was also the strategic aspect that made it possible for them to win, and not anyone else.
As they had a party of only two people, this made it much easier for them to rotate magic, ressurects, weapons attacks... Basically, it's a very hard boss to beat because it takes strategy and skill to do it correctly. A 'normal' party of three -could- possibly do it, if they were perfectly coordinated, but let's face it, I don't think they are, since they didn't know what they had to do to defeat it.
But having a party of two allowed them to switch off doing this and that, which in the end, was the true effective way of defeating this boss.
At least, that's what I recall. I wish I could post in more detail, but.. Well, I can't right now >.<;

I think I read somewhere that the reason it was so hard to kill was because it, sort of like Cubia, kept changing it's tolerances. Only it would switch from each of them. Ground tolerant one second, then lightning, phsycal, magic, fire, etc etc.

Yes, I think FireDraconian is quite right. I read once (i believe on this here board) that The One Sin dragon doohicky changed elemental tolerances after every attack, and since people were still dumb and mostly newbie-ish at the beggining of the World, they couldn't figure this out. No wonder Orca and Balmung got so much praise after that; they were the only good players of that time

Either that or it didn't display the tolerances like it does now. Doesn't the email you get at the beginning of Infection say that updated that? Fighting would be very difficult if it changed tolerances after every hit and you had no idea which tolerance it changed to.

Heh. Regarding Kite and his beating of the Bonus Bosses.
All of those areas are Protected, meaning he's not supposed to be there, plus he uses the Bracelet to get there.
It would be amusing, though.
Kite: Hey Lios! I beat this Parasite Dragon, don't I get anything from you guys for doing that? I illegally hacked his data, but the sword I got was totally lame!
Lios: Oh sure, just give us some time to make just the right..."power-up" for you.

LOL, tee-hee! I was thinking just that the other day, since those lame twin blades aren't worth a bit once you start the next game (when i started mutation with the Hikkoudoran, I immediately found a better weapon).Andy00 wrote:Kite: Hey Lios! Back on topic: the mail you get about the tolerance updates and stuff I think are just applied to the games and not the storyline per-se. If you notice, the american version has almost every japanese update in the first volume, meaning its not part of "The World" history, instead just thrown in to futher immerse you into thinking you're in a MMORPG with REAL updates.
