Actually yes... What he's talking about is the .hack//MYSTERIES contained on on the //Liminailty 1 (or is it 2) DVD. These mysteries have already been posted somewhere on the forum, I'll see about digging up a link but basically what he's talking about is the version upgrade the world went through...IE: it was upgraded from ver.1 to ver. 2 and new content was added (just like in all online video games). It is unlikely that Skieth's model would have changed because he exists outside the system parameters. The changing of the cross to a Q shaped staff probally has something to do with Bandai not wanting to offend any of its american gamers. I don't think people would've made a big deal about it but sometimes bandai is wierd that way. Anyway, back to my original point here, the mysteries are not some super secret code, its just a DVD egg that can be accessed by anyone. As I understand, all the //LIMINALITY DVDs will have one egg in them.

Sounds like your brother is full of BS; my friend is a l337 haxx0rz/craxx0rz, and he's opened and rewritten parts of the DVD and game for fun (he tried to make Piroshi have Balmung's avatar, but his burn messed up or something). He's shared what he's found with me *coughs*GAME MOVIES*coughs* and he's never found anything remotely like that. Ontop of that, see the cross in Liminality, and how would you meet Mimiru and Bear and A-20 if they were on this "other version" of The World? And if you mean different versions by The World game upgrades, why would Skeith's staff be affected by that? Afaik, CC Corp doesn't even know he exists.

Actually, how does one go about extracting the cutscenes? I thought they we in-game rendered... (Except for the opening movie, which anyone with a dvd drive can view. I would be eternally greatful if you got me the details on how your friend extracted them. ^_^

Also, as far as version change affecting Skeith's staff, I thought I said this before: Skeith's staff just seems to be data taken from the god of darkness, Wryneck, right? So if the game was updated (such as CCsha Japan thought a cross was neat, though it wasn't originally in the world as it wouldn't fly well in Germany) so that Wryneck's code was changed, couldn't that alter Skeith? Look at it this way: If altering (i.e. defeating) waves of Morgana changes the data of The World, shouldn't changign the data affect them too? Just a thought...

...and I just realized something: Wasn't Delta Server Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground also affected by the version change? With that funky statue? Regardless, Morgana IS The World, so messing with The World's data shoul change Morgana.

Ummm, yeah... I guess my example was stupid. But what I mean is that things DO get changed in THe World's data between SIGN and Infection, and if Morgana is based off of that data, it makes sense that things like Skeith's staff can change if they change Wryneck's staff, right?
