A flat

What is the meaning of the A flat that is heard in both Liminality and .hack//sign? i think it is what makes the people go into comas...Mai Minase said that she heard the sound before falling into the coma....and I heard it in .hack//sign when the characters are in odd places such as the castle in the sky(forgot key word)...but does anyone have a concrete answer to my question?

it's not an A flat, as i musician i can assure you of that. Anyway, it deals with the theory of liminality. For an explanation of that, search for the thread 'Liminality in real life?' But the whole choice of the note A was because it can go farthest in a natural environment.

It seems to be played whenever an AI appears, or does something that affects The World, or when The World affects things in the real world.

The A is part of the German Alphabet, they even freakin' say this in Liminality. "Ah, Beh, Seh."

Is this something related to that thread on the 'Limality Ping' and by A flat, do you mean that little 'ding'..?

Yeah, and I think its just the real-world sound of something getting rewritten in The World.
