Epitaph Translation problems?

I noticed, glancing over the version on this board and the version mailed to you by Wiseman, that there are some differences. Most of all, they call the Phases by different names.

While Skeith, Innis, and Magus are the same in both, Fiddlehiem has become Fidchell, Gole to Gorre, Maha to Macha, Talvos to Tarvos, and Copernic to Corbenik.

(BTW, if this as been brought up before, I apologize.)

I was wondering if these names continue into parts 3 and 4 in these slightly altered forms. Certainly Macha will be a glaring error, especially since her name in .hack//SIGN was, as far as I know, kept correct.

Also, does anyone know why they would make such slightly changes? I could see if it had "inappropriate context", but the stuff they changed just makes it less understandable.

I think that's all just part of translation. The "L" sound and the "R" sound are interchangeable between japanese and english.

Yeah, not only are the sounds interchangeable but from my stand-point, the names were changed to fit Irish names. o_o All the Phases are named after aspects of Irish mythology, at least from what I've seen.

But I bet someone's already mentioned that before. ^^;

It's in the German language, but Emma could have borrowed aspects of the Irish myths to write the Epitaph.

Ark Bullet: Ark could mean Ark of the Covenant or Noah's, whichever...
I forget but I think I heard the name Cubia from religion class once...
oh well...

I noticed that the game and the Epitaph are linked together...

Try going by the game, cause it's based on the Epitaph of Twilight.

I meant was like the story line(not the history of The World, Kite's story)... it's based on the Epitaph of Twilight...

Like I mean... compare the events that's happening in The World in Kite's point of view...

I forgot the Epitaph again.... but, In the Epitaph it's said that you will see Skeith, Innis, Magus... then when I checked the flashback, they went in the same order.

So pretty much the game and the Epitaph is going on the same path as that of the Epitaph... it's pretty much a spoiler throughout the whole game!

yeah, the epitaph thing, hes fighting the phases in that order, however whenever you see the phase the first time a lil movie thing happens that has to do with the descript of the phase (Skeith the Terror of Death, Kites all NOOOOOOOO and he Data Drains Aura for a temporary "Death" )

Yeah about maha, but I think I saw something in the trailer for .hack//QUARANTINE... didn't Mia turn into a big giant monstery thing with a big skirt-ish thing? and at the end it shows maha (the pointy hat one from //SIGN) bowing... does she turn into both, or am I confuzzled as usual?
