o_o I'm not kidding...
Before this goes entirely & horribley off topic to the worst topic that we folks hate; Aromatic grass is just a collectable item.. you don't see any Aromatic grass busts. So, stfu, not drugs.
Back on topic; Anime has deffinetly changed the way most cartoons appear today. Proportioning of eyes is abit bigger, & chests are.... umm.. Well.. I guess they've alwyas been large in cartoons.
as for DUSK seeming like the PPG's, I say "neh" to that; since the PPG's eye take up about 3/4's of their heads. o.o;;;; leaving little room for hair detail.

That's just messed up... why would someone want to draw eyes so big they look like dinosaur eggs got shoved in their sockets?! I think .Hack//Dusk was aimed for a younger age group, while .Hack//Sign was aimed for a teenage to adult age group, and Liminality for those kids inbetween... weird eyes, yet it fits their heads, and well drawn art... yep, thats definately for inbetween age groups...
Elk: "Do you have.... Aromatic Grass?"
Ginkan: "We found another tripped out player! Get 'em!"
Elk: Oh $&^@! -Runs so fast he leaves an after image.-
Ginkan: Heh heh... works everytime...

I'll differ on that, since Liminality definitely has a plot convoluted enough for us young adults. When most kids watch liminality they go to sleep because they find it "boring", though for us the story is definitely g00d. I really liked vol. 3, with all it's "real world" rpg stuff, not to mention the cool inclusion of japanese history.
Dusk however...is... iono o.O weird

It was meant to be an action/comedy/cute fest; Hence the cute style. The styles all together, differ, if you hadn't noticed. Style generally points out what age group it's aimed out to.
