The Ringing Bell of the Twilight

Post by eth0 »

In the Land of Twilight, Under the Moon
high and loud, the sound of your bell of the twilight...ringing..
all alone, it rings and echoes in the twilight
Not sure what I want to say here.

It's my understanding that Yuki wrote all of this music without seeing //SIGN. It's amazing how well the music fits into the series.

Well, anyway. I wonder if this "bell of the twilight" is just a random lyric or perhaps we could turn to the music for further explanations and deeper meanings of the series. It may be far-fetched, but it would be neat, and one more way of bringing the whole thing together into the best piece of work ever :)

Perhaps this refers to the bell heard throughout various places in The World in the //SIGN series. It is heard in Carmina Gadelica when Bear and Subaru talk. Also a couple other times. Once in a field and another time in Mac Anu, I believe.

I wonder if this is a single bell heard throughout the entire World? Or different bells in each Root Town that are heard throughout all fields reached from that Root Town?

Maybe it doesn't matter, but I enjoy pondering these things none the less.

Thoughts?

That is the only song that I have ever heard where I am not easily able to hear the lyrics.

Maybe the bell of the twilight is that 'A' note that we hear?

A side note on that, one time when I heard it the sound almost did make me lose consiousness. Weird...

...how can you 'almost' lose consiouness? You either do, or you don't. There really isn't an 'in-between' Anyway, the part that kinda seems odd to me is that it says "...the sound of your bell of the twilight..." Perhaps it is the 'a' note.

I thought it was the fork they were talking about. Not the kind you eat with, but the kind you use to tune you music. It can sound like a bell at the right frecquency.
