Aromatic grass contains data from Macha (sp?) since its part of her its instincts she is obsessed with collecting it.

(found this out on Quarentine DVD i got Sun)

I personally think aromatic grass is a way for Elk and Mia to show affection towards there friendship. you know, kinda' like something you'd give to your girlfriend. For example you buy her a charm for her bracelet every Christmas. Elk probably don't even like it. He just finds it for Mia 'cause he likes her.

he does it for her because he likes her, she does it out of instincts..

it is a part of her data as macha when she was a phase she doesnt know why though ...

at one point Mia Gets all high & sh.it cuz i gave her too much Aromatic Grass. she ended up gettin' lost & sh.it. but if u give her or Elk Aromatic Grass it raises their Affection Level by 100.

sory i'm a bit confused now... Afection lvl.? Is this in the fourth game? I'm only starting the fourth game.

besides being able to get movies,BGMs, and what not. doesnt the affection lvl help the way the character asks towards you? (like curing u, reviving u, the items they are able to trade, etc, etc...)

[spoiler]Aromatic grass has missing pieces of Macha's data in it, since Mia is an AI and was programmed with human emotions, its in her instincts to collect Aromatic Grass, and since Elk likes Mia, he wants to help her collect it[/spoiler

Better fix those spoiler tags.

Anyway, I don't think the affection level determines how characters act towards you. I haven't noticed a difference, and I'm pretty sure that it doesn't affect their trade list. As far as I know, it only determines when people send you certain e-mails.
