and it kinda makes sense. i mean they come back when u leave the field (and sumtimes when i leave the dungeon) so i would think sumthing happened)

What about if 7 parties are on the field at the same time and exhaust all the portals?

At first I thought the monster just goes back into another portal when you leave the dungeon. But monsters change when you re-enter the dungeon.
