Did they log out?
Well we know that at the end of //SIGN there is a lot of debate about whether anybody logged out or not. Now we know that they make cameo's in the later games (what the exact circumstances of this are I don't know), but let's think about it logically.
If you had been through all the events of SIGN would you ever even consider going back into the world? Of course not! What would want to relive those memories or face possibly becoming stuck in the game again. So with that in mind I would say that they did not log out at the end of SIGN but rather are still trapped inside the game. What does everyone else think?

Yes they did log out.
Yes they did come back to play more.
How do I know this... simple logic. They had to stay in contact becoming as close freinds as they did. So obviously they would play the game to keep in contact.. and yes with time they drifted appart. You can only play a game for so long.
Anywho... those are my thoughts and flawed logic ^_^
Oh... did anyone else think that the real world Tsukasa and Subaru were good looking? I did ^_^... and so was Subaru's character in the game... but thats another discussion

I don't think that Tsukasa and Subaru would need to play the game to stay close, I would think that Tsukasa would want to avoid the game after all that, but if for anything would consider going into the game for Subaru if nothing else.

It's also possible, that some of them, like say, Ginkan in UdeDen, felt a responsibility to make sure that The World was still a safe place. I know that if I went through those events, I wouldn't want to go back, but perhaps I might if only to keep an eye on things. I wouldn't want them to happen again.

Yup,I agree with you on that Asmaria.I would be a bit cautious about going back to the game and have that fear of being trapped in there.I would go back just to see what happened afterwards, and maybe give a helping hand.I feel sorry for Ginkan in Episode 8,even though I was never fond of him,I felt real bad for what they did to his character..that was unjust :/

Ramble warning! Please do not this part if you want to avoid silly rambling.
Crim did say that he wouldn't continue playing the game, and let more serious players take up the cause.
BT has no reason to play after making sure that Tsukasa incident came to a conclusion
But maybe they want to meet again at the world, because except for Tsukasa and Subaru, and maybe Subaru and Krim, (ok, throw in Bear and Tsukasa, he did promised to be Tsukasa's real life legal guardian) no one knows each other's real world self, and they still might want to see each other again after that abrupt conclusion. Why, we don't even know if Tsukasa met Mimiru IRL, Tsukasa never quite paid attention to her request about meeting her after logging out.
One of the screenshots I saw of vol two, I do see Mimiru in some dungeon and in the back you see Kite. So she still around, but no idea why....
I think the TV series .hack//sign is perfectly scheduled, just as in Japan, to be aired between better part of release dates games vol 1 through 4, adding to the mystery. Kudos for Project .hack
And yeah, I have to agree with Zippy Zion that reallife Tsukasa and Subaru were good looking.
