Not to get off subject, but IRC is more vast. IRC is the best form of internet communication.

Somegames include first month or two free with a purchase of the game. Or they allow downloads of their client software (rather than purchasing the software w/ box from a shop). If any online game is going to come out, they should do it the way EA is doing it.
About edgy things happening... If it's ever made (probably not), it will use the .hack game engine that they already have. Also, CC2 Corp will take care of the sys admining...

omg, if they came out with .hack//"The World" - Online, like they did with Everquest, you know, like, with a bunch of Expansions, i'd buy each expansion pre-order, i've started work on an RPG based on the show, but it's only a singleperson one  i'm not very good at programming MMORPGs so i wouldn't be able to ^_^;; good thing someone just said they would if it's not made! :P means i won't have to fail trying

This subject has its set path.

Do not stray from it.

New subjects form new threads.

To begin a new thread within a thread will lead to entanglement.

Your new thread can be started on your own.

Do so, or this thread shall be cut.

[EDIT: Sora: .... a little vague there, Moruti-chan >_>;;; But she's right. Shadow Rose, if you're going to post a question like that, it needs its own thread. Thanks.]

.... I was lucid for what was necessary.

[EDIT: Sora: .. yeah... >_>;]

Oi vey ><!
I can immagine trying (and only trying) to run this game (if ever created) on my computer, but ah, the possibilites...

I also think of the bandwidth a server alone would have to take, with Brood War (which has... nothing to do with .hack, but it's online) has the massive number of players, but if so many people log on, a few people get dropped.. I guess the only way to pay for good, stable online gaming is to charge for online play to keep up the servers. Chances are, I wouldn't play then =\...

Brood War drops players because of the amount of players? Huh... I always thought it was the connection of one's computer...

But anyway. While it would be the coolest thing since sliced bread to actually be able to play "The World", I highly doubt it would be exact... I mean, .hack defies a lot of possible things - Face expression, precise movement of the body, eccetra eccetra... But it would be cool anyway. Blah, I've never played an online game besides Starcraft/Brood War anyway, so what do I know XP

Even so, I have my doubts. Having an actual game could possibly screw things up.

Allow me to explain something that really freaked me out. I got to see a robotics engineer speak on Tuesday. It was really cool. Nevertheless, there is now a program (that's not available to the public yet) involved with developing a 'social AI' for computer systems.

First off, it can be run from your typical home computer, with even a $20 web cam installed.

Second, it sees your facial expressions and will actually respond off of them, and the computer generated character in the program will 'see' these and mimic your expressions. This is a program that's being developed for use as an electronic AI to allow expressions on robots, on all things. ^^ It's nifty, but it's enough to creep me out at the same time. @.@;;

...I guess that pretty much scratches out my theory.

Kind of reminds me of an incredibly stupid movie called 'Simone'.
