How about Neverwinter Nights? At least, it's kinda a MMORPG...I think. Pretty dang cool too! I've been playing for 8 months and I'm still addicted to the toolset

P.s. I think making a The World would be awesome but if they tried to make it too much like .hack it would fail because you would compare it with .hack and though we are technologically advanced enough to start preparing for it i don't think we are far enough to make it exactly like we see in the anime

True but not true. It would most certainly be not as advanced as the anime, but even without VR it could still be a very good game.
