I've always wondered why people -ask- to be moderators >_>
And I'm actually really curious o_o To me, moderating is a time consuming, often thankless job that takes up hours of your time every day. Frankly, I'd think that most people would rather not have to be responsible and just play around on the forums.
Unless, of course, it's a popularity issue and people simply want to get attention/be listened to >.o
Well, if that's the case, let me tell you, nobody likes to listen to the moderators -.-; And once you lose your temper, you'll never live it down.
Really, I'd rather subject the job on people who are simply masochistic enough to enforce the rules and have to keep their temper in check, and who are okay with, for the most part, being forced to have no opinion on the board users they absolutely hate.
Justice, and all. You can't ban someone just because you hate them. Doing that makes you a bad moderator. No, instead it's just gritting your teeth and having to deal with it.
Really.. it's not a fun job, but it's nice to know you're helping somehow to keep things in check so everyone else can have a good time.
But that's how I'm seeing it.
