Who has the best fried chicken?

Post by Pin »

IMO, these are the fried chicken tiers:

Top Tier:
Church's
Popeye's
My Grandma's/Homecooked

Mid Tier:
KFC
Everyone Else

Crap Tier:
Old Country Buffet

Church's gets top because, from time to time, they have come out with the juciest chicken meats I've ever tasted. It was like eating fruit. That tasted like chicken. Also, their biscuits > everyone else's biscuits. Popeye's is a solid contender everywhere, and their dirty rice is something the other chicken places just don't got. And my grandma cooks mean fried chicken, I'm pretty sure you all have at least a grandma or an aunt that does too.

KFC is alright, but Church's owns it.

And Old Country Buffet...I ate chicken there once, and the fool was bleeding. Geez.

I've never heard of Church's. Where do you live? No offense, but does this topic qualify as a "semi-serious rambling"?

The south. I'm aware that Church's has a smooth operation down here.

This isn't a rambling though; fried chicken is a matter of serious, delicate dicussion.

The South? That's pretty far North of me (in Florida, hehehe). Anyway, the next time I drive through, I'll be sure to stop and eat at one.

Personally, I think that Chick-Fil-A has the best chicken nuggets EVER.

Friendly's and Steak and Shake come close second with Chicken Fingers

KFC rules with the popcorn chicken, but other than that, I'm not a big fan.

Roast Chicken is best from Boston Market.

There is a Chick-Fil-A at the mall around here, but I never bother going there since it's...expensive. That's also another flaw of KFC's.

Church's is also pretty afforadable. I think you can get two chicken pieces and a biscuit for a few dollars.

Chick-Fil-A, expensive? o_o You can get a 12 nugget meal, fries, and a drink for about $5.

And if you go for 2 6-nugget kids meals, you get more food for the same price!

Abners has the best the fried chicken. There are only two locations, though. One is in Memphis, but I don't know about the other.

My girlfriend tells me that they have an Abner's in Delaware.
