Certain problem with .hack games

The problem is that they r - AFAIK - released only for PS2. There are no version for PC and none r planned. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I guess that there may be a lot of ppl who like .hack anime, but without PS2 have no way of playing .hack games.

I have been looking all over net for 2 days but have not seen any major spoilers of the games - except little tid-bit of info on the ending, most of which is known form Liminality 4 anyway.

Therefore, my question:
- is there such a page/topic in certain forum I missed?
- if not, could anybody outline how the stories of .hack games evolves?

I have tried to make sure this question was not asked before on those forums (browsed all topics till bottom of the page). If I am mistaken, being a newbie here, I humbly apologise.

As of this time, nobody has felt like taking the time or effort to write out the plot of the .hack games, and as I myself haven't played all of them, I'm certainly not going to try.

If anyone WOULD like to write up a comprehensive plot summary and post it here, it could be useful.

And though I do love the Rhyste-style summaries, I'm looking for something a little less.. biased, and a little more detailed o.-

There's a few reasons. First of all, the bizz must be licenced to other consoles. And sometimes one console pays the bizz more money to have a monopoly. Just think of how well PSX did after FFVII was released. A good percentage of the PSX's console sales were due to FFVII's popularity. Nintendo did it a little too much on the Nintendo 64, and inadvertently killed it's progress.

if you notice on your comment card from Mutation, there are 2 things that stick out

and
-"Q18 Would you purchase an online version of .hack? yes__ no__"

if there is a bigenough demand Bandai will release it.

You gotta look at marketing..

First of all, this is a Japanese produced game, so it's gotta be profitable in Japan. Now look at the available systems:

PC - just.. not popular in Japan for some reason (correct me if I'm wrong if you'd like.. but you don't see many PC games here coming from Japan)

PS2 - broadest market and successful in both Japan and the US.

GC - no offense to GC owners, but its still marketed mostly towards kids.. and .hack isn't quite kids material.

Xbox - you know it.. it's just crap in Japan.

i have to disagree, there are lots of games for the PC only in japan but for some reasion they are not ported over to us systems.

latley its been mainley Online game like i have seen 50 i think for sail. inculding mahonjong, Genghi Khan - The Legend Of The White Deer,The Magic Sword & The Chivalrous Youngsters II,Empire of Angels III,Huan Shen Jie, and A Rhapsody Of Strange Land - The Fool Plate.

not to mention the second Evangelion game based on a side story with sjinji's girlfriend called "iron madeon" or "the girlfriend of steal" has a sequil that is PC only. so i tend to think PC is not ignored in japan. though its not as big as the PS2 or GC, oh and GC is purty big in japan thanks to the BIOHAZERD siries(Resedent Evil), various awsome anime games including Galixy angle and Zoids.
