Story of dothack

Post by StoryFreak »

OK, I think this is the overall answer to the dot hack story:
Helba is really the older version of Aura, I know this becasue the digitalized girl at the last sene of the ending theme of the .hack/sign episode is next to Aura and the digitalized girl has helba's hair!!!!! Helba wants to find Aura becasue her father Harald was working for a group of evil hackers who wanted to hurt people with the deadly flash (thorugh Data Drain) but when he was beta testing and programming it into the game, he realized what a bad father he was and what eh was doing and he decided to program Aura in the game so the Older Aura (Helba) will be able to find the game Aura and find out who is behind the deadly flash project. It all makes sence when you really think about it.

ok heres proof! Remember when Aura said about the Book of the Twilight "a great force. It can either bring salvation or descruction." and when Helba says to Kite "I could be a friend or a foe" It Fits!!!! Helba said that becasue she didnt yet know if Kite was going to be evil and help the hackers without knowing about it, or be good and hunt hunt the hackers and let Helba reach Aura.

Helba is a hacker and Aura is an AI. I sure someone can explain this better.

Hmm...that whole thing about the way they speak IS ture, but it could be a couincidence (horrible spelling), and another thread is discussing that Helba might be a guy IRL. So then Aura would be Helba. But in the past. But in .hack//sign episode 26
Helba asks Tsukasa when they arrive in Net Slum again "Where's Aura?" so then wouldn't se be asking "Where am I?"
I may have a small lead somewhere in my predictions but after hearing what Harald says at the end of Vol. 4, I changed my mind. It was a good theory tho :)

... it was never really a good theory: "Evil hackers," "her [Aura's] father Harald" - you said that Aura was Helba because of their *hair?* Liek, wow - that totally lacked research in the first place: For someone named StoryFreak, it sure didn't look like you knew WTF you were talking about.
and god said unto cain, "wow you're pretty stupid."

This is a ridiculous theory >_>;

Allow me to explain why.

When theorizing the plot behind a story or mystery, keep in mind that it can't be too fantastic, or people won't buy it. Something with such little evidence to support it would never fly with audiences, once it's finally revealed. Here are some reasons that, while you could spend the time making up some insane justifications for why it is what it is, point towards the idea that Helba is NOT an older version of Aura.

1) Lycoris, from .hack//AI busters, would be more accurately an 'older version of Aura', though she's the failed version. Harold more or less says this.

2)
ok heres proof! Remember when Aura said about the Book of the Twilight "a great force. It can either bring salvation or descruction." and when Helba says to Kite "I could be a friend or a foe" It Fits!!!!
It doesn't fit at all o_O;; that's an awful way to tie two phrases together. The 'great force' is Kite's ability to Data Drain.. the Bracelet.

Helba's 'I could be a friend or a foe' is a cliche ambiguous statement that simply fits in with Helba's character. She wants to remain an ambiguous figure, as she IS a hacker. The two statements don't relate. Aura is stating a fact to Kite, speaking of the risks of strong power. Helba is being evasive and cryptic because she wants more information about Kite before she gives him any.

3) Unless it's a gigantic conspiracy, Helba is a person in real life. The man in Liminality 3 who met with Tokuouka and Kyou seemed to be an aquaintance of Helba, after all. That, and didn't they receive cellphone messages from Helba IRL? If she was an AI, she'd be limited to The World.

The way to create a well-founded speculation or theory is to use as much evidence as is given you to make the LOGICAL conclusion, not something 'so far fetched, it's got to be true, since truth is stranger than fiction'.

Helba? an AI? Not really, she is been stated to be only a hacker in the story for multiple times. And the older version of Aura is someone else read the novel version and you'll see.

I agree with every thing you said but this
If she was an AI, she'd be limited to The World.
Isn't not being Liminated to the World the point of .hack//LIMINALITY? No offense or anything...I was just wondering what you based that on.
Lycoris: What is the name of your spear?
Alberio: It is the Divine Spear of Wotan.
Lycoris: It is a Spear of God.
Alberio: That's right.

Xeno makes a good point. The ai's can affect the world by putting people into comas so who says that they cant make cell phone calls. Even nowadays they have online things you can use to leave people a cellphone message. I know the two things I said dont have too much to do with each other, but in a future world where computers are relied on even more than today anything that is online will be able to control alot irl.
P.S. I broke 100!

AI stands for Artificial Intelligence- basically somthing that is built in a computer stystem, or runs off a computer of some sort... If you've ever seen/read chobits, chii and the other persocoms are a good example.

Hope that helped! ^.^
