Intermezzo is a real word. It means a short OT interrupting story in the flow of the major event, in theatrical perfomances (http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/i1/intermez.asp)
While 27 fits that decription, what makes me wonder is the chronology of this episode. Does it take place after 26 or should it be watched in slot 15?

I heard...
I remember reading somewhere that Episode 27 was also shown at some convention in Japan.
... who quests for the Twilight Dragon ...
Intermezzo takes place through two time periods, actually.Prokonsul Piotrus wrote: While 27 fits that decription, what makes me wonder is the chronology of this episode. Does it take place after 26 or should it be watched in slot 15?
The 'current' time of the episode is after SIGN's events. years after, actually, if I've been told correctly.
The 'flashback' time, is awhile before SIGN, when Mimiru first started playing The World.

Remember earlier in the episode, Galdenia (spelling?) admitted that she played the game to help people, and would do it all to hear people say thanks. You can not normally go out in real life, save babies, rescue people from blazing infernos, etc. You can do things heroic in the game to warrent thanks.
Being an ex-Everquester, and a cleric no less, I know how that is. There is always a gratification in helping someone, even if very simple, in a trouble they are having. I would spend 4 - 6 hours of my time, doing something out of my way, to help a person in need for free. Heh, I have even got in trouble by friends for going "too far" out of my way to help others. It's just something I did, whitout really thinking about why I would do it.
Maybe Bear was surprised to get a thanks from Mimiru because she never said it before, and admitted that Bear has indeed helped her a ton in The World. I know some people in EQ I would be surprised if they ever said thanks for help.
That's not Gardenia in the episode. That's Mimika. That's a friend of Mimiru's who taught her about playing The World. Balmung posted the character design sketches with her name plastered all over it on here somewhere.
It's true...Mimiru's idol, does look exactly like Gardenia. But from what I can tell,Gardenia, the person herself, didnt play the World until later on.Seeing as the previous character,Mimika, couldnt gain access to that character anymore.
Unless she found a way to bring her back, but in the episode, she tells Mimiru about a promise that she has kept, for when she finishes playing "the World".
