Well, that was a week ago, so I can't quite remember my search words. But it was Google all the way. I found a lot of alphabet tables, and scanned through them all. It took some time (not too much on a T3!), but I'm sticking with Arabic. It's not exact, but the style of Subaru's symbol is very similar to the style of Arabic text.

I have a cousin who's arabic. Heh, the CIA onced asked her to help translate all there arabic interceptions. I guess translators of that sort are hard to come by, who are fluent and know the street lingo. Bad thing is that she lives in Centrailia Washington, which is about 1600 miles from Kansas City.

Well, from the description in the novel, the Wave in the OP when Bear appears is definitely the one for earth, and the one for Subaru looks like the one Hokuto has on her outfit, which is the one for thunder. I'm not sure about Mimiru's or BT's, but going by the symbols used in the game, I would guess fire and wood respectively.Brad_Evans wrote:In the op, We can see charas swinging weapons with element symbols on their back. I'm pretty sure that Bear's Element is Earth. Subaru is, if 'm not mistaken, Thunder. Has it not anything to do with the markings? Since Bear's symbol of Earth fits his tatoo, and so does Albireo
It also looks kind of like a hiragana "n" with an added dot. ^^;LordQuadros wrote:Actually, Subaru's wave looks a bit like the Japanese hiragana for "ro", except backwards.
Personally, I don't think the Waves on the characters and scenery necessarily have any meaning... there are so many variations, I'd be surprised if the staff bothered to make up specific ones except in a few special cases.

Hmm, a placebo marking. It's just there to make everyone feel good, like there's something special about Subaru that makes you antsy, but can't pin point. Such as a special something in the girl you fall in love with, without any idea as to why. The strange marking on her forehead could just be that, something weird to make her more mysterious.
Maybe I've had to much sugar today. I haddn't posted in 2 weeks either. Computer labs at school are shut down for break.

Umm...yeah...ok, I think its just something put on her forehead to liven her character up a bit...noone wants a dull looking character...and besides, as had been said before...Everybody has them...BlackRose has them all over her... Tsukasa has them, and also Mimiru and Krim. Even Sora has a scar on his face...its just there because its there. It doesn't mean a thing.
