Puchiguso = Grunty the same way Tutankhamun = Akhetamen. I'll let you decide how that works. ^.^ The translators have certainly thrown me with their logic.

I'm pretty neutral about the little creatures, but that scene where it kept running into the wall... was funny. ^.^

Even in the future...

Pet pathing still sucks...

And if anyone gets that joke I'll be amazed.

And every MMORPG in existance.

There's apparently this universal problem in online RPGs where the AI for your pet is roughly equivalent to a particularly slow child who doesn't 'get' walking around obsticales, confuses left and right, attack and retreat, and in general makes the controller wonder why in the world they ever chose a pet class to begin with.

You know! Speaking of small children walking around, that's just what Feena is like in the first Ys game when you save her! ARGH! She's supposed to be a goddess and she's got the IQ equivalent of a puchiguso! >.<

No more terrible feeling, than playing EQ as a Magician and realising that all your offensive ability is lost, stuck against a tree somewhere, and the Crushbone Orc Army is bearing down at you dead ahead.

*chuckles* Yes, I get the joke - its amazing the parts where they poke fun at current MMORPGs in .hack//SIGN.

Then again, at least Ico is a bit better for pathing your sidekicks... although this one is supposed to be deaf and blind, ne? o.< So... who can really say.

And lets not go into Daikatana...

'Innovative! Revolutionary! Going to be so dang cool!'

...yeah. Right. ;P

Sometimes you can have new developments fall flat on their faces - that's always the risk we're running by seeing new stuff released, after all.

Daikatana was just a rather spectacular version of what happens when something DOES fall on its face. ^^

I think there's still a copy from the original shipment gathering dust in the store I used to work for. ^.^ But come on, the game was useful for something - my favorite was 'doorstop'...

I can't think of a much better use for it - I think the going price for that game was what... $5 maybe, last time I saw it? ^_^

Maybe even less now. Although I think that even if they threw it in the 'freebie' bin, just to make it so it wasn't taking up space, they still wouldn't be able to get rid of it. Junkware to the extreme.

Yet more proof that you don't need cutting edge graphics to make a good game. And that focusing soley on graphics can kill your work faster than anything else.

Nonsense!

The best use for Daikatana is as a coaster, though it's in a strong competition with AOL CDs for that on my desk at the moment. Why pay five bucks for something Time Whiner sends me for free?

True, a coaster IS a good choice, but I do rather think that doorstop works as well, personally. But there are so MANY uses for Daikatana... how can we ever cover them all?

Hee! You don't have to tell me that twice! Do you know how OFTEN my friend and I get picked on for playing Bubble Bobble on my comp at school? Or I get picked on for playing Clash at DEmonhead on my emulator... or the fact that I -love- the Ys games to death? *.* Wahahaha...
