He may have a button to expand his wings into a glide formation, but they may be just hard to aim with. XD I keep picturing him crashing into a tree.

Well, if you have to hold down on the R3/L3 buttons to glide, that would probably affect how easily you move. I could just imagine him gliding over one of those spike pits in the dungeons and accidently releasing the button...

Or you know, flying over a feild...& there..being....a tree. *cough* I want to see Balmung crash into a treenow. @_@
But his bad flying may just be a bug in his model, since he seems to be the one testing it, meaning it is a prototype....& all prototypes have bugs.

Maybe his controller is just broken. You know, the buttons get stuck or something.

It may be a special CC controller or something, you know, being an admin & all.. maybe CC employee's get better hook ups for the game.

Maybe he asked Piros to use his 1337 hacking abilites to make him able to fly. :p

More than likely, it's just a menu option for him that he's probably customized into his controller buttons (L1 + R1 for takeoff, hold down R1 and push L1 for flapping, hold down both for glide, and he probably lands automatically when he touches the ground. It wouldn't be too hard.)

That would make sense, at least.

As for .hack//DUSK...

[spoiler]He is an employee of CC in .hack//DUSK, but during the games, he is a normal player. His wings are a legal item one gets from 'The One Sin' event, so there must be a normal programmed means for him to use them.

Oh, and it's 'Kamui', not Kami, or anything like that c.c;[/spoiler]

It may also be a seperate menu on his screen that allows him to fly, giving him options to choose from...but more logically with would be with controller..

Sorry random. He's a glider in my opinion not a flyer, sorta like Subaru's wingy things.. o.o

This discussion has made me realize how the .hack characters with wings, can be oh so humerous in a non-aromaticgrassoverusedjoke. XD
I think Subaru's wings are too hard to fly or glide with.
Balmung's could have been programed to spread when he jumps into the air, as I'm sure someone else may had said.

Why do you people analize this Anime so much? I've never seen anything like it. These things like, "How does Balmung fly?", they are just added to the Anime to give it some flavor. Don't you guys think it would be pretty boring to watch simulants walking around and just talking to each other? Of course there is no button to move the character's fingers, or to kneel down and pray. But without these...this board wouldn't exist >.>
