Of course they're programmed to show up...

It's just a question I decided to ask to bring up a conversation. Not unlike "Why does Japanese anime not show Japanese people" or some .hack question that has no definitive answer unless you goto the creators, you know?

But then... They're just programmed to be there, right? So if you collected all of the Grunty food in an area, gathered a whole bunch of people, and got them to stand all over the place and watch where the food would show up, then what would it look like when they come back? Would they just kind of pop up or something? :P

I think it'd be like the old NES games - where once you kill an enemy, it's gone for however long you stay in the area. But once you move away and come back, it's back. At least to an extent in .hack//--------- ...
