[spoiler]Helba was looking around inside CC Corp.'s files when she found a folder that contained all the junk data from CC's server. She thought the contents were amusing, so she pasted the data together to make her own little Root Town.

How are the AIs "failed experiments?" Do they just not think or something?

The appearances of the failed AIs are usually glitched and incomplete, with many missing pieces. Several can't think properly either, and babble nonsense most of the time. Most have been unable to come up with goals for themselves (since they can't think) and just wander around aimlessly.

And those are the relatively good ones; the first few AIs couldn't even talk or move.

and many of them were used by Morganna to become the new ultimate AI.

in other words she wanted some one else to become the ultimate AI so Aura couldnt and wouldnt have to delete her.

but since a copy from a copy of the original isnt like the copy of the original it wouldnt work (putting a copy of sumthing into a copy machine to make copies wont be like putting the original in the copy machine in the first place)

Like say you wanna burn a dvd disc. When you do, your friend wants one, so you burn the copy you just made.

Yes. And if you notice (especially with VHS) the quality degrades with each copy of a copy.

and it shows in the results, the video gets static every second.

and for data the appearance is missing data, and it might even be completely altered

And also, every time you tape it, the more you record something out of it, the less the picture you get.

Huh? That wouldn't work even if Morganna did make an exact copy of Aura.[spoiler]No matter who becomes the ultimate AI, Morganna has to go. Her deletion is a part of the process and can't be avoided if the ultimate AI is to be born. Once Morganna decided she didn't want to die, she got rid of all the experimental AIs that had a shot at becoming the ultimate AI.[/spoiler]

those are all good therys but i have one of my own. Vagrent AIs tend to be reborn after they die [spoiler]Mia is a good example of this[/spoiler] may be do to some of the things in the secand book like the image of the hero of .hack//AI Buster that she could be a Reborn and upgraded version of [spoiler]Lycoris[/spoiler]

Lloyd, do NOT revive dead topics, alright? now, AIs are "reborn" because of a recycling of data, not all AIs would be reborn, only ones with a cause to be reborn, like Mia, she had to be reborn because she still loved Elk, and Lycoris...
[spoiler]she can't be reborn because she was throughly deleted, the only peice of Lycoris left is the Trash Data of Lycoris in Net Slum, and Zelphi is just as she claims to be, Aura's Daughter, so stop making these bullcrap theories, the reason she has that Lycoris episode in Volume 2 is simple, remember the memory videos in the games where you "meet" the SIGN characters? well, Kamui has the same spear that Albeiro used to have (they used to go out, but they broke up) so maybe a memory of Lycoris got stuck in it, Zelphi triggered it, and for a moment, repeated what she heard Lycoris say and think she was Lycoris for a few moments, It happens to me sometimes when im roleplaying for hours on end @_@[/spoiler]

Maybe Lycoris could be rebuilt from the trash data... That would be some form of being reborn, wouldn't it?

no, it wouldnt, because Trash Data is just that, TRASH, the important files they needed would be deleted, they wouldnt be able to restore Lycoris from that pile of crap >.> and even if they did, she wouldnt have any memory, and would essentially be a new being, kinda like the Tsukasa/Subaru AIs, I consider them a new entity because they dont have the originals' memories, and they are gaining memories of their own, Mia is the only exception because she was merely repeating her life almost to the dot
