I think they should have at least made a thirteenth episode. The last episode really didn't let anything out.

[spoiler]"The World" gets a screwed up, and Shugo and Rena do something with the bracelet, and there's a big flash of light. That's it. What the hell? That's not an ending![/spoiler]

I'm okay with the whole deal about leaving certain questions unanswered, but that was just ridiculous. Actually, it reminded me a lot of the end of Final Fantasy VII.

So basically, yeah, episode 13. We need one.

I think, Xeno, if that happened, all of Rhyste's arguments about the anime being dumb and non-canon will go out the window ~.~

On subject, however, I was talking to Kite, and we figure that the reason they did these 'unaired episodes' is to retain profits despite how much they tend to lose from bootleg DVD makers. These episodes are never aired on TV, and are only available on the japanese DVD releases.

Actually, I've noticed this with quite a few different anime in Japan. Though it's not always an episode they use as incentive to buy the DVDs, they can use things like limited edition figures (like with Scrapped Princess), or, like for Final Fantasy: Unlimited, they require you buy all 9 DVDs and send away for the FF:U Before CD Drama.

Personally, I'm all for this kind of anti-bootleg reinforcement >_>; Since it means more stuff for me!

yes sora, i too am barely grasping on to my money (Flcl manga, Flcl boxed set w/ vol. 3, .hack//dusk manga, .hack//sign vol. 5, all pre-ordered) [spoiler]But didn't they kinda explode? I think i remeber that at the end Shugo and Rena flew threw the air into the 'evil chaos gates' and just blew up. Roll credits. Then an end scene where they all form a party. I think it would have sufficed to end it at them exploding into light. i was like, WTF? [/spoiler]
