Tsukasa wrote:Okay, Rubedo... That makes no sense. o.o; Because you can't have a 'fansub' of someone's voice sound different. n.n;; The written dialogue of the fansub would be different, mind you, but it would -look- different than -sound- different.

However, I refuse to watch the dub with the knowledge, now, that Shinji's English VA from Evangelion plays Tsukasa. I hate it when people think of the two of them together.

I honestly think that Saiga Mitsuki (Tsukasa's Japanese VA) did an amazing job with the character- and that no one else will be able to pull of the same level of the role that she did. That's just me, though. ^___^;;
Oops...Um..ha..ha. Thanks for pointing that out. I just woke up when I Posted that. ^^;; Oh! And..Um..Shinji's English VA from Evangelion doesn't do Tsukasa's English VA.

Ah. Cool. It's just what I've been told from other people. I don't follow US VA's very often myself. ^____^;;

I wish it was though. Shinji's dub voice is wonderful.
But, I think the VA for Tsukasa does Jim Hawking from Outlaw Star.

No no... I didn't get mad about over quoting. ^___^;;

I just got flustered that the topic changed to talking about how funny it looked like with multiple quotes within each other in a topic off the babble board. ^__^

...that would be acceptable there, but not on the discussion boards.

Most TV networks don't broadcast things at the same time across the country. East Coast and Central generally are broadcasted simultaneously, but West Coast usually is broadcast two to three hours later, at the same clock-time as the east coast broadcast.

You get more viewers that way.

As for Cartoon Network.. I wouldn't bash it, if I were you, nor the people who watch it. Everyone gets their start somewhere. I first learned what anime was by seeing Sailor Moon on TV many years ago. By now, of course, I've become an early consumer and am thus, by now, considered a 'jaded' anime fan.

Then again, my friends have been watching before anime was ever known as anime on television.. you know, those people who only found out about it through their friends and 7th generation fansubbed tapes.

To them, I could hardly be considered a hardcore anime fan either, you know? It's perspective. You may know more than they do, but people know more than you do. Don't be hypocritical.

Personally, I was happy that Cartoon Network decided to get into this. Because of them, Anime is now becoming mainstream in the US market, and Japan -knows- this. This is why a lot of stuff you could only get through fansubs is now showing up in stores. This is why anime is being translated faster and put on our shelves in only months instead of years. This is why you can find translated manga in the bookstore.. why some of it still reads right to left!

This is why the .hack project works in America. Because the Japanese PLAN for a US release before they even release it in Japan. We are close business partners, and now that we've finally found something that is also very big in Japan, we can make it even bigger and better.

The only people upset about things like that are the ones who have their egos threatened by those who are 'less experienced' in the -TRUE- form of anime, that being subtitled japanese, thinking that they know a lot about anime.

Egos are terrible things.

And just so you know, the word 'otaku' isn't something you should be calling yourself. It means 'home' in Japanese, and the reference to anime fans is that an 'otaku' never leaves their home. An otaku is a fanboy. A smelly, unwashed, socially inacceptable fanboy who never leaves the house because they're so obsessed.

Just so you know.
