Oh, okay. I thought it was sort of odd for such a short series that they would hold a recap. Especially at that point, where there's a lot of suspense.

They usually do a recap right after the intro every 5 or so episodes in other shows. You see it a lot in Inu Yasha. But not that long of one. It could be for style.
I think about the recap in FF7 at the hotel. You see it once cause you have no idea what just happened, then afterwards you just want to skip it. This way, you can just skip the whole ep. without missing anything.

hm...but i think that in trigun the re-cap episode was 3/4 of the last episode... Anyway, it would appear that they are skipping ep 15 in the //sign DVD's. I remember the episode preview on the last episode on the 3rd DVD was titled Depth, which is episode 16.

Actually, there were about 3 recap episodes in Trigun...but they were all divided up they did show some new footage during them... The first of the three was title ''Vash the Stampede.'' Anyway, I know i'm off topic here, so...... I really wish that they world go ahead and put all the episodes on the DVDs and not skip 1 or 2...maybe they're doing this so they don't have to put an extra episode (or 2) on the final DVD.

Well, it really doesn't make sense to put a recap episode on a DVD when you're presumably watching them all at once, or have the previous ones available. At least it makes SOME sense when the episodes are a week apart and you can't go watch old ones, unless you tape them.

I mean, why would you want to watch a recap ep on a DVD anyway?

Actually, the recap episode was very useful for a certain effect in an AMV Tsukasa was making. They took the BGM out of one of the scenes, and he put another one in.

Not.. that this is useful for anything else, but -someone- benefited from it ^_^

Meanwhile, it looks like the last unit of .hack//SIGN may include 2 DVDs. Likely, 24, 25, 26 on one, and 15, 27, and 28 on the other. There is no official word on this, though (I don't think they've decided themselves)
