But the way the Japanese choose to romanize thier names, it really is up to them. In Hunter x Hunter, Kurapika (the romanization) is really spelled Curarpikt. o_O I have no clue why he wanted to spell it that way, but he did.
I also know people who spell their names one way, and insist it is pronounced another. *shrugs* Odd...

bout lost universe, i dont get the kain or neena's last name, cuz even the official merchandices in japan spell it as KANE.
bout mireille in noir, its original offical name is mireille, i know this cuz when it first came out and i play this mmorpg name Redmoon, i have a friend w/ that name and she said its the english version of the name from noir ^^;
finally, bout mireille of .hack//DUST. i personally think its mireille as well just cuz its written in katakana.

but...if my memory doesn't lie to me here...ain't there a character in the games (I think I've seen it somewhere) that looks almost exactly as Mileiyu(or Mireille)? Or am I totaly out of line here? Does those 2 charakters have anything common? Exept they are bothe rare item hunter? *babbeling on and on*

Mireiyu/Mireille however you want to spell it (we still don't have an official english spelling @_@) has the same character design as Mistral, who is in the games. But they are two different people. As far as I know, they've never met either.
And I think that you can delete a post by clicking on edit, then removing all the text, then submit again. I'm not sure though, but I think that's how it works.
