Yes, this is an English speaking board, primarily. We have people here from all over the world, who speak any number of languages, but we request that you keep English as the primary language spoken here.
We may lapse into these other languages when we feel like it, but don't start a topic like this when not everyone can understand the language spoken.
I -do- understand German, by the way, though it's been too long since I remembered how to write it.
