Well, just so you know, I've skinned all the major portions, And I've got the default screenshot from SkinBuilder up (in a few minutes). I haven't done any work on it for the past one or two days though. As you'll be able to see, many of the more specific things (progress bars and so forth) are not skinned, but much of it is. For the most part, since a lot of the design is not found in any existing Altimit reference (the games or any such) I'm hyaving to just create based on what I know. The main changes from esisting references is that there's no transparency in most cases, and the dark gray parts have essentially been removed.

The buttons will probably end up similar to the tabs, where the selected tab will be the button when it's down, and the unselected when it's up.

i like it, but the yellow is anoying to look at... id suggest some sor of mid grey, i qouldnt be able to use a skin with that kind of collor for long periods of time, and when im one its usually for 5 or 6 hours at a time, so... also, do you have a font similar to the one used for altimit on the japanese site?

The main altimit look is yellow.

yea it is... sorta, but the background of the windows, from what ive looked at is darker, along with the toolbar and menus and stuff... wich i was trying to politely point out as a sort of constructive critisizm to maybe be of some help... also the main look, as a whole is more orange and brown... again, that is just from what i have looked at, wich is mainly the flash file that i downloaded from the japanese .hack website

Well, if you note what the grey is, it's actually transparency. Which is why I haven't implemented it. Incidentally, all of the colors are ripped from the Flash file. So don't say they aren't legit. Another reason I didn't stick with a dark grey background is because XP doesn't handle borders on backgrounds very well (in fact, it can only deal with backgrounds as simple colors), which is necessary for handling the background well, as all the major color divisions are marked off by the deep red borders found in this pic.

i know that the grey is a trancparency... and i wasnt saying that the colors arent correct... i was just saying that, im my oppinion, that is a hell of a lot of yellow to look at for a long period of time... maybe its just because its a windows blinds skin or whatever... i was just trying to offer some input, i figured thats why this thread what made in the first place... im not tryin to piss people off... this is only my first day here... i thought i might wait a few weeks before i fell into my usual habits of blatently speaking my mind and giving my fcked up oppinion of everything that i have an oppinion on

ehehe... I think it looks nice, but then, I constantly use a different color for my windows all the time. I like orange. If you -don't- like orange, Altimit has a blue scheme as I've seen, but Pipian can only do one thing at a time. I'm sure if he felt up to it, and liked what he made, he'd listen to suggestions about other versions. Both of you seem to be kinda edgy. *sweatdrop*

Hey, MithrilKatana... It seems like you're overreacting to this. He certainly didn't mean anything. However, he -is- trying to match the Altimit system, which -is- yellow based, and perhaps you don't -like- to look at yellow, but once again, he -is- trying to mimic something. There's no need to yell and get upset about something. I think, more than anything, this was the show the progress of his work, which he has been working on for awhile. So please, I don't want anyone get jumpy - I don't want to have to lock any topics now. @.@;

sorry... im just having a horrible day... i really didnt mean anything offensive or anything... i really do have a lot of respect for anyone who can finish a skin after ive been working on it myself... i dunno... i should just go away for a while i guess... there are a lot less people here than in some of the other forums im on so i dont get lost in the shuffle as much... damn... im rambling again... im gonna shut up... if i came off as an asshole its cause i can be sometimes... wether i like it or not... its stems from my cynicism, insecurity, and lack of social skills... wow, that sounds worse when i read it... lack of social skills... im just always on the outside... i have plenty of groups of friends that i hang out with, but i always feel out of place... welll, im rambling again... this is antoher problem for another thread someday maybe... i should have stopped typing long ago... i probably shouldnt even post this... but i will, or did if your reading it... k, im done...

Incidentally, alternate color versions are planned. But I need to finish the yellow one first.

I'm kind of glad that Pipian is really working on something about Altimit. See...no one else does, and I think we can't criticize any of his work. (I'm also not criticizing anyone.) As I came around on the net, and saw his site, I just thought it was some kind of a "dead" site.

The Background of the Altimit Panels ,.... I don't know a Programm which is able to do that "60% opacity" on windows-backgrounds. That's the only thing that is a bit bad about the whole thing. But I guess it will be there ...One Day. And until this day has come, it's better to have an "Altimit Beta" than NO Altimit. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks so O.o

So If there's already such a programm (which is able to do that) , forget what I wrote

I don't have Windows 2000 (yet) but I've seen Tsukasa use it, and there was some way that the windows were transparent. Maybe some program? I'll have to ask.

There is a program called Glass2K which I was using with XP for a while, but then it started to annoy me >_>; It's interesting, though, however it takes up a lot of processing space that one could be using for something else '_';

Does Glass2K modify/make transparent the whole window? content+symbols+innerfield+border - like NVidia Graphic cards do? Or only the "white background"?
