response to rhyste: well it is explained! They say that [spoiler]once you get KO by an infected monster, you get stuck in "an evil illusion" where you subliminaly think that you are dead. But if ur refering to Tsukasa, then it's because Morganna teatherd Tsukasa mind to Aura, who didn't awake until Tsu realized that he had to want to exit "the world"[/spoiler]
