Ok, that's not allowed! you totally can not forget about tron.
actually, tron isn't too similar to hack... at all... in tron it's being inside a computer network, not a game. altho, there are games inside the MCP thing... it just isn't the same...
Only in dreams; We see what it means
Reach out our hands; Hold on to hers
But when we wake; It's all been erased
And so it seems; Only in dreams
That's why I said "at least as many", implying that Tron is more like .hack than The Matrix is. And I don't think The Matrix is similar to .hack enough to merit this thread.
Virtuosity is a movie with Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe. They had a VR simulator type thing, I think they were using it to train police officers. Russel Crowe played a virtual killer that "got out" into the real world. I think it was rated R, as it was quite violent. Anyway, it was a decent flick.
It was a wierd movie, didn't Washington fall off a building toward the end? And something about information being stored in a physical cube of space. Which you can fit a lot of data in, if you can read it without damaging sorounding data. But that's all I remember.
Reboot is a little like MegaMan EXE. Involving separate programs all designed for specific functions. Yeah yeah, and they both destroy viruses. Such as running across a TV remote control program, pop machine program, etc... Glitch would be a cool accessory to have, though MM has his various chips.
Matrix, .hack, Tron, Virtuosity, Reboot, MM.EXE(whew!) obviously have little to do with each other, but the connection is mainly about the theme all of them have, not the plot.
In Matrix:Reloaded, a computer program seems to be interchangable with a person's conciousness. It's roughly the same as Tsukasa's consiousness becoming like that of a program's.

Okay, I know I'm a n00b and all, but it's pretty obvious that this doesn't belong in the Fan Works forum at all. Maybe General Discussion, perhaps? And yes, I had noticed the similarity between the Matrix and .hack. The big difference, though, is that everybody in .hack realizes that they're just playing a game, whereas only a select few can enter and leave the Matrix at will, I think, and many are under the impression that they're just living average, day-to-day lives. It really makes you think: Are we in the Matrix?
And no, I haven't seen Reloaded yet. Anyway, you may want to think more about which forum you post this in next time. Just a suggestion.
but there are some differences the bad guys in the Matrix are just like neo traveling in and out of the matrix and RL where in .hack the bad guys exist only in The World
=============
matrix has nice and strong (and way to fast) characters .hack has characters with a lot of different strengths
[Edit: Tsukasa- Edit your post rather than double posting. I'm only doing this once.]
