You don't goto cons? :O ::jawdrop:: That's crazy
They're so good... there's gonna be so many .hack cosplayers out there though... it'll be like all the Vash's from last year ¬.¬

As one the collective unifies
emanate a faithless shine
forever creation has conceived
birth of destruction spreads its wings
chaotic rebirth a new domain
relive the sight the sound the pain
erotic the taste of agony
adorn the scars in inhumanity

Actually, from past experience at cons, there has been a relatively small amount of .hack cosplayers that I've personally seen.
AnimeFest '02, Asmaria and I were Elk and Tsukasa. One other person was dressed as Subaru.
UshiCon '03, Asmaria and I cosplayed Aura and Tsukasa. We ran into another Tsukasa and a Maha together. They were part of our cosplay skit.
A-Kon '03- I wore Tsukasa. Jisu@here wore a Subaru costume. I know someone else who wore a Tsukasa, and I think I saw two others, then the other I had known at UshiCon. In addition, I saw the Maha from UshiCon, another Subaru, and a BlackRose.
Compared to Chii from Chobits, and Vash, and other major characters, the .hack chars are still far and few between.

Budget Zen: When you see something so stupid that your mind goes blank rather than try to rationalize it.
over the time period that it never occured to me to hit "refresh" and I got that stupid page with a sandwich on it....
something occured to me...
they are in a game...
meaning that they don't actually have a HEIGHT...
I could say they where 2 inches tall and I wouldn't really be wrong...
and it would be alot easier for me to think that...
This is going to be easier than I thought ^^

Gawd, you guys are giving me really horrible ideas for stuff to do with the really massive color inkjet plotter we have where I work (they use it to print drawings for buildings and stuff, onto sheets of 3+ foot wide paper. We also have 3x5 foot sheets of vellum around here.). And I WOULD use it to make posters if the ink didn't cost something like $80 a cart, and if it didn't have SEPARATE CARTRIDGES for each color.
...my point, however, was that it is entirely possible to print something that big. But no matter how you do it it's going to end up expensive if you want to do it in color.
My advice: Go to your local art/craft supply store. Find yourself an opaque projector -- a little machine that can project an image from a sheet of normal paper (e.g. a printout of a .hack image). Artograph sells one for $50, but I'm fairly sure my mother found a little one for $20 or $30 at Aaron Bros. (here is a projector for $30.)
Also buy a roll of white paper (biiiiiig white paper) and some poster paints. Using the projector, trace the character image (and general color areas) in pencil onto the biiiiig paper. Then paint.
...just cos I like figuring out how to make things work out.

You must desire respite from thy empty existance... thou shalt have it!
First of all, that 'stupid page with a sandwich on it' is the default 404 page for Sandwich.net, which is hosting this board for free.Nebu wrote:over the time period that it never occured to me to hit "refresh" and I got that stupid page with a sandwich on it....

It's Bear's server, yes. It'd be more polite not to insult it like that >_>
As far as heights, they DO actually have a height. It's a height relative to other characters as well as the structures in the game. It doesn't necessarily apply to the real world all the time, but in the game, the -DO- have heights.
