Actually... .hack Encyclopedia is published through Fujimishobo which is a subsidiary of Kadokawa.

It is, and it isn't.

Japan is different, when it comes to things like this. Basically, employees of Bandai did not write the encyclopedia, some other people did, but they licensed it through Bandai and it was sold with their name on it, or at least, their official approval.

The copyright system is different in Japan, so things like this are easy to do. It's like the Genso Shinsyos, a fan-compilation that comes out every few months, but information is provided by the Gensui team from Konami, so it's a joint effort, really.

So, mostly, the work was done by a fan/fans, and then published under Bandai's approval.

Or something like that...

I don't see why it would have fake info about the game...

no, I haven't posted anything about it, its in the... page 128? if I'm not mistaken? It's in the black and white colored pages, the section where this severel people explains to us about stuffs in .hack, and each page has 2 discussions
