But to add, multi-disc games usually possess the almost entire game on each volume. For example, in most Squaresoft RPGs on PS1, the only thing not included on every disc are the FMVs. If anyone (besides me) actually knows how to hack with Gameshark, it's a simple matter (but sometimes time consuming) to locate the code that determines party members/etc, and patch it over the normal code for the part of the game you are playing. Then you can have anyone you want in your party.
