We never find out. SIGN doesn't show things like that, and you can't PK in the games, so there's no way to tell. I assume so, but that's only a guess.

Another thing I noticed in the games: there are no players in the fields. The only existing PCs are you and your friends. That's it, there aren't any other players leveling up or something...

they probably didnt think it was neccesary, plus they might have been on a strict deadline so, trying to improve small glitches in the game might have been abandoned..

besides you want some one else to open up and destroy ur chances of getting stronger?!?

*would be funny watching them get killed by a data bug  *

well, PK is one way to prove you're strong - it's feels like an accomplishment, a motivation so you can move on. As for the players that are killed, it also motivates them to become stronger.

But like I said before, player killing is more of a gamble than skill. It would be highly unlikely that a level 15 could defeat a level 70, but what if the level 15 is really rich? He could be be playing it safe, thus packing in highly expensive armor and best-in-the-game weapons. The level 70 could be looking for a challenge and be wearing no armor and weilding useless weapons. The level 15 could have a full party, with a healer and a speedy character. So pretty much, player killing is up to luck - a gamble.

There's very little luck involved in a battle between an extremely fast Level 90 Twin Blade and a party of random newbies playing on Theta server who are weak enough to be killed in one hit by said Twin Blade.

So if you're skilled enough, you don't have much to worry about. Player killing is only a gamble when the fight is fair.

Hmmm, what if the armor is like really rare and brings the defense to about the same of a lvl 70 without armor? Same goes with weapons. That attack would be the same. Yes, it would be a slim-to-none chance that a newbie would wield three pairs of rare weapons and armor, but I'm talking hypothetically. I would call this fight fair, wouldn't you?

If the newbies are incredibly good and have managed to scrounge up the best equipment in the game, and the Level 70 player is a complete idiot who uses nothing but the worst equipment in the game, then the fight might be fair. However, the odds of something like that happening where luck would come into play are not good. In most cases, the high level players will massacre the low level ones.

Get the picture? Ok, we're getting miles off topic now; what was it again? Oh yeah, Subaru's wings. D'ya think there are other character styles that have mini-wings programmed into it? (I really don't want to have this topic locked ^_^ )

>_<; Yes, I read your post. It's just that the reason why the Level 70 player uses only bad equipment is not that important. Whether he uses it because he wants a challenge or because he just doesn't have anything better available will have no effect on the outcome of the fight.

The point I've been trying to make is that in most cases, luck has very little influence on player killing. The vast majority of player killers won't be interested in leveling the playing field, and will make sure they always have some sort of advantage. They might be a very high level, outnumber their victims, or attack only characters of classes that do not match well against theirs. Relatively fair situations like the one you described will be very rare.

About the on-topic question, female Heavy Axes are the only characters that I've seen with built in mini wings. I think other classes would use 'em if they could.

Yes, I understand the situation I'm talking about is very rare, but

Are you saying that a twin-blade character can wear mini-wings? Sora wouldn't look exactly angelic [shudder]...

Well, I don't think it's a good idea to use a hypothetical situation that has a very small chance of occurring to make a generalization about player killing.

O_o That would look... strange. What I'm saying is that some non-Heavy Axemen would probably make mini wings a part of their character if they could. Since nobody does, I think the mini wings can only be used by female Heavy Axemen.

Oh, you said if they could. Well, I guess you're right, but what about the full wings? I'm sure a lot of people would love those... And what about dragon wings? Are those part of a character's programming?

Full wings like Balmung's? They were the prize for a special event. They're not part of any character's programming. Neither are dragon wings, although they would look really cool.

Wow, the other players must be jealous of people who have wings; too bad they can't get them...
