Whether they want to is irrelevant. That is the responsibility of a moderator.ara wrote:I would think the mods wouldn't want to look at the posts on the bable board.
How can we solve the Babble Board problem?

i dont have enough time to read this whole thred right now but i'll leave my suggestion. I'm not sure if you can do this but you could make it so that every new strand had to be approved by a moderator before being posted, this would cut back on the useless stuff that gets posted in strands and possibly significantly decrease bandwidth. It would also cut down on the frequency of brainless posts. im not sure if this happens to anyone else but i often think something is good at one point in time but after i post it and read it over an hour later i realize i wasn't thinking at all. *begging* PLEASE DONT GET RID OF THE BABBLE BOARD. *begging*. I dont want to post on the other boards untill i see the whole series.
im lost, can i go home with you?

That's actually a pretty good idea, aside from the fact that it would need a pretty dedicated group of mods...lightshadow4610 wrote:i dont have enough time to read this whole thred right now but i'll leave my suggestion. AHEM. If it is giving you trouble, or you don't want it around, by all means, DELETE IT. You have my blessing, not that you needed it.
It is your board (well...technicially Bear's, since he's paying for it, but I digress...) so do with it what you want. IMO, introduction posts, posts about fried chicken, etc are BORING, so I don't read them. Saying "hi" and "welome" a couple dozen times in a thread doesn't tell you anything about a person, anyway, so introduction threads don't even really serve THAT purpose.
Since the existance of the off-topic-NOISE is giving you a headache, then by all means, get rid of it, using as cut throat a method is necessary. As I mentioned in the other thread, if you feel like being nice (which you're already being much nicer than I would) you could simply limit the maximum number of posts in the babble folder per day, or per person in the babble board. I'm not sure if that's possible, but it would certainly cut down on the amount of spam you'd have to dreg through each day in here before getting to the reason you started this place in the first place.
BTW - Sorry if my tone offends, but really...it has gotten to the point that people post more innane babble than about .hack, and it seems to me that there are people who have NEVER posted about .hack, but have started an introduction thread. I could be mistaken about this, but that is the way it seems to me.
This has to stop, because...really, I KNOW Tsukasa and Sora, not to mention the others who may not be as visible, have better things to do than ask people to actually talk about .hack! -_-;
Perhaps the name of the babble board should be changed to:
If you want to chat about something other than .hack, please use mIRC, AIM, ICQ, etc...not this board.
bleh.
