I have a PDA and a laptop... but I';m not proud about the laptop... its a Macintosh... >_<... but it was free so I use it... but more and more I use my PDA which is the coolest thing I've ever had... i have a `128 meg memory stick for it and that is insane storage for a PDA. Color screen ^_^ *drools* and it looks sooooooo good.

I'm getting a computer from there and so far i've found nothing bad about them knowing that you can get 2 free disks with it, one for storage of important files and one to be a PC Doctor ^_^ which really works well.

I've used my friends AlienWare computer for a month and its great, no matter what was going on with viruses ect the thing never crashed, never brought up the blue screen-o-death >_<, even when Kazaa/Morpheus was running and a file was faulty and tried to crash it it just deleted it on its own. I think Alienwares are the best out there right now. But they are very very expensive (mine cost $2010.00, and my friends cost $14,100.00 )

And if you dont like AlienWares goto Falcon Northwest computers, they're great to, losts of fault protection from both companies. But like i said, very very expensive!

Hey guess what! I built a computer better than the marketed alienware one at the time for $700 less ^_^

The moral of my story... if you can build it yourself... thats the real way to go ^_^

hehehe building a comp is awesome...but when someone asks what comp you have..it is hard to answer...mine is Gateway/AMD/Sound Audigy/and some other stuff...i have this wonderful melding of parts..but *sniff* when i loaded XP(kick butt OS i might add) it didn't like my graphics card, monitor, or sound card. So i have to update. But thankfully i have motherboard sound and a disabled graphics card to use my monitor till update...*sighs* more than 500 dollars for all three at once...*sighs*

Thats how long it took me to strip down two old computers then construct one better than both of them from the parts.

I call it... THE CHEAT! It defies all rules of building a computer and still runs ^_^ I rule!

It may be old but it'll work for what i need it for.. which is running the cool old games ^_^... ya know like Decent, Doom, and any hentai game that won't run under XP >_>... i didn't say that...

As you already know... lol ... I use "PoS" (should be plural) as gateways and so on.
There was that 166mmx 48mbram 4,4GBhd I used some time ago... It was fighting for it's life... a wonder that it worked.
First - The cooler's bearing got a bit damaged (no idea why) .. It made stupid annoying noises. Well - I was to lazy to get a new one, so I just lied it on its side. Problem solved.
Then the HD made problems, ... "primary hard disk failed" error on startup. I didn't want to accept this, so I took it out, and after some time, it worked again. I didn't turn it off anymore, lol. As the time to reboot has come, ...again that error. I was very angry lol. After some time workin around on it, ...it still didn't work -.- I was more angry than before, and :O ... I took a screw-nut, and threw it in there (the open case). It worked

Hm...after some time it died. There for, I got that "new" one, (I've made a mistake in the "give him/her a name" thread) a 200mmx P2 lol.

Anyway, I like my (Toshiba-) notebook (called it Varuna)

I want a sony cliÃ© >_< *looks at Zippy's clie ....

Alienware! I will get one when I get new funds... I too have a old 486DX for old old old dos games. My dos machine really came in handy playing StarControl 1 and 2 (not the ported SC2 one that TFB is releasing).

While Alienware is great, I've got to comment that since I'm a full time student, that I'd not be willing to pay that much for a computer. The laptop I have now was quite a bit cheaper than the Area 51 laptop on their site with all the capabilities that I wanted from the one on AW, and some extra things that I wouldn't get on that unit (DVD Burner and Memory Stick ports). Sure, it's not the spiffy color that their units are, but what I'm highly interested in is digital video and such, and so I got a Sony Vaio video based system.

And, in the end, I highly doubt I'd pay $14k for a computer. That's preposterious. @.@; If I had that much money, it certainly wouldn't be used in that direction.

However, the thing about viruses and BSoD isn't always just the -type- of the computer, it's also partially run through the setup. I've only seen -one- BSoD on my old Gateway (Vorfeed) in the past 2 years after I installed Windows 2000 on it, and Morgana has yet to have had one since I got her, period, and she runs WinXP ( Morgana had a folder with virally infected files on her system that Windows Explorer didn't agree with, but it never killed her, nor did the virus spread on her. ).

I've said this many times, and I'll keep saying them. Vorfeed is a P2-400, and has still proven to be more reliable than most of the faster computers in this apartment. She's even proven to be moreso reliable than Morgana (which is actually -brand- new.).

With that in mind, though... I'll just say that I'll stick with what I've got. ^_____^ While the companies are great, I think the best work you've got, is making sure you know your system inside and out.

The reason i have a 14,000$ on my list is because it an Ultimate Comp, but its HUGE! That thing has alot of stuff so you'll never lag in online games, lots of disk space, ect..... but i'm never buying it ^_^

And you're right about the AW prices, way too high, but good performance
