actually, I heard (somewhere but I dun no where) that Tsukasa/An DOES infact log back in, I dun remember where I saw this or what it really said, I just remember it saying she does

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Perhaps this is what you are thinking about?

[spoiler] In the 4th .hack game, to be called Quarantine here, at the end of the game, the characters of Helba, Sora, Tsukasa and Subaru can join your party. However, it's been said that the later 3 aren't really the original players, but AI copies. Seeing how they send you e-mails, this is strange, but until we actually see the official translation, I'd hold off on that till you can back your info up. [/spoiler]

I wouldn't say that Sora is a split personality.. he's simply an emotional nutcase right now. He's not like Tsukasa, who would rather live in the online world than the real one. He's a little kid who has always thought of The World as a game, without 'real people', thus his willingness to PK and ruin it for others.

Perhaps it's fair turnabout, now that he's stuck there, but he's probably not dealing with it really well, hence his moodswings and creepiness.

As far as Sora being Skeith, that argument is still up in the air. I wonder about it, frankly, and what significance the red scarf has in terms of symbolism.. is that the representation of Skeith's staff? If so, it could go either way, that he is trapped within the staff, or within the Phase itself. Perhaps he is the manifestation of Skeith when it is not in its towering Phase form.. since I highly doubt it's like that all the time. Of course, when it isn't like that, Sora's mind may have a little more freedom to act as he pleases.. though he may have the occasional relapse into Skeith (or, as the Phases are part of Morganna, her) mind, thus his hatred for Aura.

We'll have to wait until the next volume is out, looks like.

Anyway, so far as Tsukasa and Subaru, I wouldn't necessarily say they're lesbians. I think that, for two characters like that, the sex of the person is not at all the important factor. Subaru herself says that she's attracted to Tsukasa's spirit, despite when he informs her that he's probably a girl in real life.

They might not even be in the stereotypical boyfriend/girlfriend (or in this case, girlfriend/girlfriend) kind of loving relationship. It's probably just an extremely close bondede friendship.. a very real, very strong kind of love that isn't physical attraction.

I just watched //SIGN episode 25 for like the 6th time (I love that Maha scene T_T) and from what I gathered, Bear said that if Tsukasa accepted he would become her legal guardian which would allow him to sponser her to go to a boarding school (and thus leave her Father). He's not adopting her, just giving her the money she needed to escape and restart her life.

Sora: I agree that the argument can be maturely made that Tsukasa and Subaru could be "just" friends. (Extremely close, soulmate type friends, but friends nonetheless)

However, there are so many people who tend to go "What? Them in love, there can't possibly be anything supporting that, and there's something wrong with you for even suggesting it." So I tend to be rather direct in my statements. <g>

Both are very strong possibilities, with arguments supporting both.

Maybe Sora was freed from Skeith's staff at the very end of SIGN when Helba deletes Net-Slum (though he's still trapped in the game but can't log out.) Then Skeith probably recaptures him some time and Kite finds him in Skeith's staff.

Subaru-Tsukasa's rabu2 method is by talking thru the phone and ask silly things like. duh, I need to ask my friend again T_T bad memory of mine T_T

Based on its commercial, Zero will be discussing mainly about the 6 comatose ppl mystery. And that includes Sora and his relationship with Skeith, I guess. Mayb there'll be Kaz in book 2?

And as an additional info (take this as a rumour, since I forgot the source and whether it's reliable) Morganna didn make all the phases all at once. The phases is "created" one by one. And when Sora was data drained, Skeith isn't "complete" yet

Actually, Helba doesn't delete the Net Slum, she simply closes that field (meaning, more or less, turns it off and purges everyone from it. A forced log-out, more or less). The netslum is still there in the future, we know this from the games.

I'm more tempted to say they are still inseparably linked in .hack//ZERO, though just how close, and in what way...

Judging from Integration, Tsukasa logs back in. (Which raises the interesting question of whether Kite will recognize him, or any of the SIGN crew. IE, whether the memories in Mutation, the ghosts in Outbreak, or the AI copies in Quarantine are canon or not.)

Brad? What do Tsukasa and Subaru (An and Mariko) do on the phone? I'm curious now.

well, after a few weeks of searching, I am unsuccessful in finding information that states Tsukasa goes back in, but I still believe Tsukasa/An does indeed re-enter the world, to see her/his friends

or to excape the world again ((which I highly doubt after going through something like .hack//sign, there'd be no way in hell I'd want to do that))

I have a feeling Tsukasa would be pretty safe if he logged back onto The World... Morganna would probably be too distracted dealing with Kite, or Aura to notice that annoying little Wavemaster coming back...

I mean jeez, she hasn't even noticed Mia yet, who would have been an awfully convinent way to get a sneak attack on Kite.

My instincts tell me that Integration might just be a parody and isn't part of the storyline.

I agree that Tsukasa would be fairly safe if he were to log back in again. Bear and Mimiru continued to play and nothing happened to them even though they were directly responsible for helping Tsukasa eventually having the will to log out. Plus, it seems that Morganna's too preoccupied to even notice that Mia is helping Kite.
