ok I'm lost... what is the Animatrix?

can animals be un pluged from the matrix or are they just computer progrems?

Animatrix is an anime of the matrix

I just saw it agan and I understand it a little better, also if you dident sit through the credits there was a really cool prevue for the next movie after them.

yay the arcatect did look like cirnal sanders.

You have a point. They are probably programs. I also wonder why the machines haven't tried to genetically alter the human race. Maybe engineer them to be vegetables. Or forget humans all together and make some wierd creature that creates a massive amount of body heat. Why not alter your Bio resource to put out more food/energy. Farmers do it, not all though. Or did I find a plot loop-hole in the machines' so called perfect logic?

remember how many humans there are? I mean, c'mon... that'd hafta suck for the robots... Also, mightn't it change the way the Matrix needed to be programmed? they program it to fit the human's needs, but if that human is changed then won't his needs? It sounds like it would take up more time than it's worth...

The Animatrix is a collection of short animated stories created by (mostly) japanese animators, who collaborated with the Wachowskis (the creators of The Matrix).

I'm leaning toward the theory that the machines simply can't kill off the human race, because it would violate the basic Law of Robotics (machines must not harm humans, or something like that). I'd certainly work that law in if I were to create powerful AI.

I never saw how Asimov's laws worked... I don't know why a robot wouldn't just break the law... If it's really an AI, then can't it just break the law like we would break a speed limit... ?

Yeah, there are 3 laws to robotics. They were layed out in Bicentenial Man. Robots cannot harm humans, they must serve humans, I forget the other. But the thing is, these rules are human rules. It is up to the programmer to follow these rules. Once the robots become sentient, they no longer need to follow such rules. Besides, nobody wants to be enslaved.

There's four laws to Asimov's Robotics. ;3 Zeroth, First, Second, and Third laws. : P As laid out in, Robot, I am. xD
