Perhaps the original poster was referring to Singapore? I hear the manga there has been released in english earlier.

Don't regret buying it from singapore. Its only a little bit more and you get it a few months ahead of time, and I'd rather not wait. But the versions will porbably be different though.

I'm only supposed to post in the announcement section, but this is important to me ._.;

Buying the manga from Singapore may be faster.. but the quality is usually much worse than a US release in terms of translation and oftentimes printing!

Also, as a US consumer, shouldn't you promote the US industry and buy from the companies that import it into America?

If you really don't want to wait, why don't you make an effort to learn Japanese so you can see it first, ne? ^^

Rofl,I'm sorry but I find that funny...since I hear that a lot,even from a Goverment teacher.Reki,does have a point,we "should" be supporting the US industry...but with us crazed anime/game fans out there...we're impatient.Some are even more desperate just to get the japanese version itself.Sure,we cant read what the heck it says but..it does have nice pictures,lol.

Oh yea, and importing manga [ or buying it from a store such as Sasuga Books ] is great to get stuff that isn't released here yet [ later volumes of Mugen no Jyuunin / Blade of the Immortal and Trigun/Maximum ] and stuff that won't be released over here [ Angel Sanctuary and MPD Psycho ]

Of course, it's worthless if you don't know Japanese, but there are always people who translate, and in some cases, scanlate, that kind of stuff. So all is good

Supporting American distibutors is always good too.

I'm also really looking forward to the manga. I've purchased quite a bit of manga before (I actually got a Waldenbooks Preferred Reader account so I could save 10% on it), and Tokyopop's price of $10 is the cheapest out there, so I'm glad that they're the ones who licensed it.
