What does the epitaph of twilight read, what is it for, and what does it say?

It's like an objective to seek out. It only makes half sense to you, so you try to find out the rest.
Personally I really don't think there's anything valuable in the end at all, but only wisdom and knowledge earned by journeying to it.

I think The Epitaph of Twilight has little actual importance. It's just a story (well, epic poem) that The World is based on. It's a mythology. The fact that Helba and Lios name themselves after characters in The Epitaph is natural, because it all ties together. If Lios named himself "Darth Vader", well, instead of respecting his authority as "The King of Light" in The World, players would be like "That silly sysadmin named himself after a Star Wars bad guy. Ha Ha!".

... the Phases? Of course they'd be mentioned in The Epitaph. It's the basis of everything in The World, that's it.

I didn't think about it that way... so Harold might have not used the epitaph... I guess he just may have wanted to make a fun MMORPG. OR NOT

If you learn about the epitaph in the first game, would translating it hold some prophetic value? Or does the Epitaph add a little at a time as the story unfolds, like a log?
