Odd people in Lambda Root Town
Odd people in Lambda Root Town
I just finished Mutation ,and I have a question. Before you go to Merciless Greiving Furnace, Lambda's root town is full of people who stand in place and won't trade. They are given voices (ie: you actually hear their voice, you don't just get a dialogue box). Is there a reason for this?

Those motionless people are...
away from their computers, and thus cannot interact with you. Remember the guy who says "AFK. I'm currently away from my desk"? Well, AFK is a simple abbeviation of Away For Now. Those of you who have Instant Message programs should be familiar with "Away Messages".
Is that really a spoiler?

I'm assuming that the other characters were away also. The "AFK" guy was the only one that was polite and informative with his message. I know plenty of people that use bizarre Away Messages. (Mine is an excerpt from The Epitaph Of Twilight, followed by links that say "click me" and flood your desktop with craziness if you click them)

When does that take place? I don't remember it for the life of me :X
As one the collective unifies
emanate a faithless shine
forever creation has conceived
birth of destruction spreads its wings
chaotic rebirth a new domain
relive the sight the sound the pain
erotic the taste of agony
adorn the scars in inhumanity

Thanks for clearing that up. And this takes place after you log back into The World after beating Innis.

well it seems that they want to be deleted...(flashback!) Are you Mr. In-the-way(flashback end!) I could imagine them walking around in a root town...::Corrupted PC is walking around. Lios jumps out from the weapon's shop and uses his uber-cool deletion beam!!!!::
You're only young once, but you're NEVER too old to be immature.
A field is the same as a Root Town, in my opinion. Root Towns are just basically the place to save, buy things, and use the Chaos Gate. If corrupted data can appear in a dungeon, why can't it be in Root Towns? I think that as long as it's the game, the data can appear anywhere.
...Though, it would be wierd for the storyline. @_@

I don't think that there is corrupted data in the Root Towns. If there are, why do people get so supprised when they see them. If corrupted data were a regular fixture of the Root Towns, the board messages would not say "weird character in XYZ dungeon". They would say "Hey CC Corp, send someone to delete the corrupted data here".
For now, I like the theory that the motionless people are away from their computers.
