Something to consider. I can't believe I didn't note this before.
SIGN has a "moderator" in charge of a group knights named Subaru.
In Dusk, the moderator in charge of a group knights has more power. Her name is Kamui.
Both "Subaru" and "Kamui" are characters from the CLAMP series "X:1999." Some folks I know have compared Aura with your typical CLAMP goddess type as well.

Albireo is the tail star of Cygnus, as posted in the AI Buster board. It is, in acuality, a twin star- a gold and blue star very close together. Thus Albireo's gold and blue eyes.Andy00 wrote:Albireo. Which refers to a star in the Cygnus constellation, I believe.
Both Subaru and Kamui are refered to as "stars" among other things in X:1999. So it would seem that both .hack and X get their character names from the same myths
Subaru is a star cluster with 7 major stars in it, creating the Pleaides constellation. These are the seven sisters who were being hunted by Orion, so they prayed for their safety. As a request, Zeus turned them into stars and placed them in the sky. Strange note, that they are part of the constellation Taurus, who is actually fighting Orion in the night sky.
I'd also like to say that Kamui is a common name in Japan, and most likely has a place somewhere in the star legends... I bet that there is a particular constellation bound to 'Kamui' in it. If I can learn to that, I can most likely guess what the story is. However, there is a Japanese legend of the Moon Goddess who became upset at the people's adulterous ways, so she turned to the Sun God and begged to change places with him, and thus she is now the Sun Goddess.
