I am a Newbie and I was woundering what .hack//dusk was???

.hack//DUSK is a manga/anime series that takes place 4 years or so after the .hack games. It's about a pair of twins who win the character models of Kite and Blackrose, the original .hackers who saved 'The World'.

The story is a lot cuter and less serious, for the most part, than the games and .hack//SIGN.

The anime branches off of the Manga, so there are two continuities. Neither seem to be the 'true' continuity, since nobody from Bandai or CC2 has said anything about them. Most people seem to consider the manga to be the 'true' continuity, but I can't say for sure.

I'm of the opinion that neither is truer than the other. They're just different.

The manga will not be released in the US until Sept or sometime later this year. No word on the TV series.

It's also called .hack//legend of the bracelet of twilight, which i think is the name for the american manga.

Actually thedudewhosadude, the official name for the US is ".hack//Legend of the Twilight". And here is the site for the .hack manga.

Actually I like .hack//Legend of the Twilight better than with "braclet" at the end. To me it sounds more meaningful.

I thought that prohibition only applied to series that have been licensed. According to Animeondvd's Grand High License List, the Dusk anime has not been licensed.

yeah, I'm pretty sure that DMarx is in the right...

If they decide they don't like it, they can start sending seist and desists to these fansubbers as well... But they look over it because technically, it's not doing them any harm. It's promoting a series they have in Japan.

I remember I read that they felt like they needed to shorten the title... But it got me really peeved at Tokyopop, since the preliminary cover for volume 1 was the original Japanese cover but with English text above the Japanese text.

And their blurb for volume 2 says "Barmunk." ::Shivers::
